Great

This rest is affordable and gets the job done. We like the size, it’s big enough to not miss when placing the instrument on it but small enough to travel, when needed.

Ordered this anchor after mine disappeared (I’m sure the dogs had something to do with it, but they’re not talking). My previous anchor looked identical and I used it for several years without issue—including on wood floors, which, along with tile, is all my house has. I ordered this anchor after a couple days of fruitless searching, and have been quite frustrated with it.No matter what angle the cello is at, save a perfect 90 degrees, it will slip. Trying to work on a difficult piece while your cello is constantly slipping away from you? Dreadful. I’ve tried placing my music stand over the anchor so that it apparently has no place to go, but it just pushes the stand back ever so slowly with it. You will notice the change in position of your cello within a couple of measures.Clearly, the issue is insufficient friction between the anchor and the wood floor. To this end, I tried roughing up the back of the anchor to increase friction, but it is still not enough to stop it from slipping. Interestingly: this anchor and my old one seem to be made of the same material, and if this is true they should respond the same way on the same floor (same coefficient of friction). This makes me wonder if this anchor requires some kind of “breaking in” period, whatever that may mean. At any rate, I would prefer not to need my physics degree to use the anchor. A bit of a steep requirement, I think...I prefer a free anchor over one strapped to the chair for easy adjustments, but I’m afraid I may have to resort to this option until I can find one of this style which works. As I have only wood floors to work with, I cannot say how well this anchor works on other types of flooring, though I assume it does well enough provided the other flooring is less smooth than that in my home. This is why I give the product 3/5 stars.

This is EXACTLY the rest I was looking for and EXACTLY like the one I was replacing (which was approximately 50 years old)!!! Great price too.

I have had two like this for over 20 years that started to come apart. I love these new ones. I use them to secure a bass drum that has sharp leg points; to keep it from sliding and scratching when I have to play on a tile or stone floor. Works great!

I bought this for my 8-year old. She just started her cello lesson and still trying to find the comfortable posture. This disc is easy to move around comparing with the one attached to the seat. It is thick enough to protect our floor.

This is probably the best type of device for keeping your cello from sliding forward. After repeated use, be sure to wash it well so that you remove dust and possible oils from the rubber. After a few years it will dry out and is likely to not work as well. At that point it's time for replacement.
