The Silent Spinner of Dreams
Right, so I bought this Noctua fan because the missus kept complaining that my old PC fan sounded like a small lawnmower revving in the corner of the living room. Apparently, it was drowning out her telly programs. 'Get a quieter one,' she says, 'or the fan's not the only thing that's getting replaced!' Enter the Noctua NF-A6x25 PWM. It’s marketed as a 'premium quiet fan,' and I thought, 'Well, it can't be any louder than her complaining!' And I'll tell you what – this thing is a revelation. It’s so quiet, I keep checking it’s actually spinning. Honestly, you could have it on during an ASMR video and still hear every whispered 'crinkle crinkle.' It’s a doddle to install, too. Even with my sausage fingers, I had it up and running in minutes. Comes with all the bits – screws, extensions, even little rubbery doodahs to stop vibration (though my PC now vibrates less than my phone). Performance? Top-notch. Keeps the PC cooler than a penguin in a fridge, and not a peep out of it. Looks? Well, let’s be honest, it’s brown and beige – not exactly winning any beauty contests. But then, I don’t buy a fan for its looks, do I? If I wanted style over substance, I’d be shopping for designer curtains, not computer parts. In conclusion, if you want a fan so quiet it makes your old one sound like a jet engine and keeps your PC running smoother than a freshly buttered crumpet, this is the one. Just don’t tell the missus how much it cost, or you’ll be hearing noise of a different kind! 10/10 – would recommend, even if it’s beige.

Excellent upgrade for 3d printer
I bought this to use with the hot end of my ender 3 printer and it is way quieter and more powerful than the original. Highly recommend it

Just what I was looking for!
Needed this for a SFF build that I'm trying to keep cool and quiet and it works flawlessly in every regard! Good air flow and can't even hear it. I had to check it was spinning to see if it was even turned on it's that quiet. It's in a Stone computer case from 2012/2013 and it fits perfectly. I'd say if you got 6cm mounting system and about 2.5cm space for the fan it and a four pin header should be compatible! And considering how well it works I think its good value. I have brought other fans that claim to be silent and were anything but so yeah nice fan!

Quality but ...
Bought as a direct replacement for the CPU fan of an old - 5 to 7 years - HP Compaq 8000 Elite ( small form factor desktop Mini-PC). Unfortunately although slightly quieter than the original fan I aborted the change. Reason being that with this fan in place I realised the noise I was hearing is actually more a consequence of the air flow required for a 65watt processor within the case. Simply put the air flow through the front grill and then the CPU heat exchanger was most of what I am hearing, the fans themselves produce little noise on idle. Which is a shame as I have a 17watts (Intel Cel-1037U) pico-PC that is completely silent and was hoping for the same - the old Intel Duo-Core E8500 is approximately 25% more powerful and as a casual desktop is very good even today). The Noctua Fan came with three cables (including a low noise 7volt adaptor) and rubber anti-vibration plugs plus screws, i.e. everything you ever likely to need. Clearly a quality product with a justified price tag, not sure however if such quality is actually ever needed nor the best spend on ultra cheap old PCs. I'll re-use the fan on something more appropriate - aux case fan the most liekly.

Great fan
I bought this to install on my hp sff pc. The stock fans worked well but they made a slight annoying noise. When replacing fans I’ve always used noctua. This model was the same excellent design, quiet and pushed the air out of the pc well. It was a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. All the screws or the rubbers for fitting the fan come with it and do do a few different connection extensions and splitters. I can now only hear the fan if I put my ear close to it and then the sound is very quiet. I will be carrying on buying this type of fan.

Works like a charm to cool my DELL T5810
I use two NF-A6x25 PWM on my DELL T5810 to help cool the internal. I initially use 4 pin to 5 pin adapter and connect the two FAN to the HDD fan header but it turn out the speed is too slow to be useful. I end up buying SATA power to two 4 pin fan adapter (this will make the fan run at full RPM as it connect only the two power pin @ 12v) so I use the Low noise adapter cable supplied included in the noctua fan to make the fan run at lower RPM instead of full RPM. My setup is one fan at the back for exhaust and another one in-front of the CPU to push more fresh air into the CPU. My CPU temperature is 3-5c cooler, for light work (browsing / watching youtube will be 35c-40c) with room temperature of 28c. The two noctua fan are practically silent and I didn't notice any noise increase by installing them.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tiny Fan, Serious Cooling — My HBA Loves It!
I bought the Noctua NF-A6x25 PWM for one very specific job: dedicated cooling for the SAS HBA controller in my DIY NAS. And honestly, it's almost perfect for the job. HBA cards can run surprisingly hot, especially when they're installed in a converted desktop case rather than a server chassis with huge amounts of forced airflow. Instead of hoping the general case airflow would be enough, I wanted a small fan blowing directly across the HBA heatsink. Enter this little 60 mm Noctua. Don't let the size fool you. It moves a very respectable amount of air for such a small fan, and directing that airflow exactly where it's needed makes a huge difference. My HBA now gets its own dedicated stream of cool air while the NAS runs 24/7. The PWM control is excellent, so there's no need to run it flat out all the time. Set a sensible fan curve and it remains remarkably unobtrusive while still providing plenty of cooling. Build quality is exactly what you'd expect from Noctua. Everything feels beautifully engineered, the motor is smooth, vibration is minimal, and the included accessories make installation easy even when you're doing something slightly unconventional. And yes... it's brown. 😄 No RGB, no disco show, no attempt to look like something from a spaceship. It's unmistakably Noctua. You either understand the brown or you haven't owned enough Noctua fans yet. Is it cheap for a 60 mm fan? No. Do I care after seeing how well it performs? Also no. For cooling HBAs, RAID controllers, networking cards, compact servers, NAS builds or any other hot component in a tight space, the NF-A6x25 PWM is a fantastic little problem solver. Five stars — tiny, quiet, beautifully engineered and surprisingly capable. My HBA can finally chill out. Literally. 😄
