Recomend for insulating the sound and vibration dampening great quality adhesive
Insulated my case with this material noticed the improvement in sound dampening but since it was old case it wasn't significant. also I placed small pieces on my fan mounting points and I believe this is dampening the vibration from the fans on my system. Recomend for insulating the sound and vibration dampening great quality adhesive!

Expensive, but Reasonably Effective
This matting is fairly good when it comes to eliminating higher pitched, and therefore more annoying, sounds from mechanical components in your case. However, it comes with the important caveat that it will do nothing if your mechanical components (case fans and hard-drives) aren't fitted with some kind of sound-dampening screws or grommets, as any sound carried directly onto the case will continue to be noisy no matter how much matting you stuff inside. However, if you take the time to fit rubber screws, washers etc. to the noise-making components of your system, then this matting does work extremely well; it's dead easy to cut to size and sticks securely, and if you cover as much surface area of your case's interior as you can, then any remaining noise should be lower, and less annoying. Just remember, this isn't sound-proofing; if you have powerful fans cooling hot GPUs, then your case will still be noisy, but this matting should help to eliminate the more annoying whines, dull down clicks and buzzes and so-on, leaving you with only the whooshing of air.At the price though it's hard to justify; I'm pleased with the results in a system that I've designed to be quiet despite holding large numbers of hard-drives, however, it's still very expensive for what it does. If it were 25% to 50% cheaper it'd be a no-brainer for every system, but for now I'd recommend building/purchasing the system first and only fitting this matting if you notice any particularly annoying sounds that you can't eliminate by other means.

Akasa AK-PAX-2 Paxmate PLUS for full ATX
This is a good product. Before you use it, make sure that you have managed your cables properly and silenced your fans using silicon grommets or seals if you are using screws. I myself built layers of this material to mount the fans so that they sit snugly on only the foam itself(no screws or grommets). This enabled me to place the fans further in the case to maximise their effect. I put a layer on the hard drive(the flat side) and fixed it vertically using some velcro strips so that the bottommost fan blew directly on it. This cancelled out all the sound from it while keeping it cool. There is enough of the material for a mid tower case and then some and every gap at the rear was plugged to allow the exhaust fans to do their job properly and not have their function spoilt. The overall case temperature is down by two degrees centigrade but because of the ability to use this foam to place the top fan closer to the heat sink, my AMD FX 8350 8 core 4ghz processor rarely goes above 50c under load while the motherboard and ram are at a fairly constant 40. The ANTEC P180 case(yes, its that old)has gone from a roaring typhoon to a reassuring whisper that confirms that all is well and cool within the rig. Not perfect but pretty close.

Very little difference
Easy to attach foam, comes well packaged in a box containing 4 sheets 2 large side panel sized and 2 small base/top size sheets. This product seems to have made next to no difference to the sound coming out of my case, this may be becuase my case incorporates six fans and has several large air flow vents which the product states not to cover.

Good product for it's cost
well I could not expect a lot from a 9euro product but it reduced the "bad" noise about 20-30%... it was enough to cover all my big case's interior (Raven Evolution RV02) and I didn't see any temperature raising. easy to cut, easy to use, sticks well, unsticks easilly, and it is very thin so no space reduction... if you need only this quantity it is the best...

Works inside an out
Made a big difference. deadens the noise rather than reducing the overall decibels. Where the material would not fit in side the case I stuck a double layer on the outer surface which worked well and did not seam to effect overall temperature. Worth doing I would say and you get plenty of fabric.

Not very effective
Bought some of this to fit into a Bitfenix Phenom Mini-ITX case to try to prevent my hard disks beating (making a pulsing noise when the two disks spin slightly out of sync). It didn't really do much to help the noise. It's probably wiser to spend slightly more and get thicker padding. 4mm isn't going to stop much noise.
