Streamer to DAC
Excellent quality and sound improvement when connected from iPhone to DAC for streaming Apple music lossless. Sound stage, reality of instruments' sounds , and overall enjoyment improved significantly compared with old cable. Moved digital streamed music closer to "vinyl sound". Excellent upgrade to my hifi system for not a lot of money.

Impressive
Bought this convinced I'm not going to hear any difference and will send it back because bits are bits going through a cable, right? Oh well, this is not going anywhere and it's here to stay. Bear in mind that I've put this on a headphone system that's more than £10k so your mileage may vary. Big difference in sound, there's more depth to the soundstage, transients are better, highs as well, I would've given it 6 stars if I could. Now I need another one for my secondary system.

The one
Ok now we are entering hard core audiophilia. I've been an audiophile for at least 30 years and will only speak from experience (having tested and heard everything under the sun, and giving a chance to all, as far as my patience would allow which is enormous, trends, ideas, contact oil, conductors implementation, room treatment, brand lines of products, vibrations control)... ALL because I love music. I know I'm not the only one. Here are my priorities, and they've been remaining for the past 29 years... In that order, give me tonal balance, then... TEXTURE, then balls (what I mean by that is I want the "mass" of the instrument... I don't want an ethereal representation of the note... This is the difference between "everything is there" but your foot is not tapping... your groins are not moving. WHY? Cause you're not stupid (at least your brain isn't). Now there are a lot of USB cables that are hard core conductors, and some silver plated. In audio interconnects, silver always sound "unnatural",,, so does one core... same with USB apparently... If you want a violin to sound like it's made out of wood, this is the one! And it will do other coherent magic as well... and the imaging... dig in to the details... all cable should be made like that... don't forget some 200 hours of continuous playing music or burn in cd before the magic is all there, and that is all there is really,,, before that, it's a melting pot of wrong,,, (still better than any other cable though)... I've not tried multi thousands cables, nor will I... But I'm married to this one... For other virtues, look elsewhere in your system.

Trust me. This is most definitely the cable to buy. Comparisons with other cables below.
So, you're curious about if a digital cable makes a difference? People say, "it's just one's and zero's so it's all the same unless it's defective". I assure you, there are audible differences but keep your expectations in line with what sort of differences there will be and you can buy confidently. What you are looking for is transparency and full sound. Not a brighter sound, or "fatter" bass. Just clean, open sound from a premium conduit with shielding and good isolation.Others I own/returned. Pangea's Premier SE dual USB cable, Monoprices' (Monolith) Silver USB cable, Tripp-Lites' USB Cable with ferrite chokes, Wireworld's Chroma 8 and Wireworld's Starlight 8. The Tripp Lite cable is one I highly recommend and trust and the Chroma 8 is a pretty good cable over all. I do not recommend the Starlight 8 or Pangea's Premier SE USB cable. They offer premium components and construction but do not remotely sound transparent. I always feel they sound like they are altering the sound since they sound nothing like the Tripp-Lite cable that sounds transparent (though much less resolving compared to this Oyaide I am reviewing now).I have been chasing a sound over USB equal to what I get over Optical (I have a glass optical cable manufactured by Toshiba for Kimber (Specialty OPT-1 I believe)). Over optical I have a level of layering and soundstage separation the likes of which I had never heard near field. Over USB by comparison I had a flat soundstage with no depth and less detail although the height and width were identical. My setup is a TEAC CD player to a Questyle CMA Twelve DAC/AMP, passing to a NAD D3020V2 integrated amplifier and then to my PSB Alpha P5 bookshelf speakers and a REL T-ZeroMkIII subwoofer for perspective.I also own a bevy of headphone some of which include HD700's, 650's, MDRZ7Mk2's and Beyerdynamic DT1990's to name a few. All of this connected via Mogami or Canare for cabling and Pangea's Premier SE AC14 power cables (great by the way, shielding FTW).Of all the USB cables I tried, this was the only one to match and even beat my CD player over optical while critically listening on both my speakers and my headphones. I'm not trying to sell you on magic sauce or snake oil. I just really want to save you money and time. This Oyaide has a very analogue sound and even I find it strange that I'm typing that. It doesn't roll off highs or change the bass or anything of the sort. But it has none of the shrillness some super cheap cables have, nor does it sound like it's filtering frequencies like the Wireworld Starlight 8 or the Pangea SE. Simply put, it sounds like it's just giving me my music over USB, as transparently and noise free as possible. And that sound, is a very, clean non-digital sound. I don't find details that were easily heard on headphones are hidden on my speakers. It's just a very clean sound with a very black background. The earmarks of a well made audio product basically. If you have a $500 or less dac/amp for headphones that measures well I expect you could appreciate this cable but the Tripp-Lite USB cable with ferrite chokes may be well suited to your budget and needs if you just want to know you have a quality cable. If however you have a stack or all in one in the $699 plus range or suitably transparent Hi-Fi system this cable will really put a smile on your face.TLDR;This cable offers unrivaled transparency and I could see no reason at this point other than "hype" to spend more. I was looking for a cable that offered transparency without trying to artificially change the sound. This cable offers that and I am fully satisfied. If you want a premium USB cable that offers audible improvements to imaging, staging, timbre and separation, this is that cable. However likewise, if your setup is bright, or dark or any other thing, it will not change that. It is a cable that essentially disappears in your chain. And to me that is a splendid thing.

Excellent cable usb DAC Audiophile

Come dac io vi consiglio l'AUNE S16 xche' suona dannatamente bene.

Quite Revealing
I bought this USB for my PC setup that I use mostly for gaming. But I also master my vinyl record rips on the PC as well. I have an Gigabyte X470 Aorus MB with two DAC-UP ports (these have isolated power from the rest of the noise/junk on the MB. Yes it really did make a difference. Anyway, I run the USB cable off of one of the DAC-UP ports and into my Schiit Modi2 MB DAC. And then DAC runs RCAs out to my current (not for long) Audio Engine A5+ speakers. I compared this USB cable with a USB cable made by Pangea that I was using for a few years. Not touching the volume control on my A5+, I could immediately hear things in my game that were muffled with the Pangea but now I could hear clearly and even with some reverb/echo (air) around them. With the Pangea, I had solid left to right imaging. It seemed a little flat but I also listen on a stereo system that I won't discuss how much money I'm into it for. But the speakers (left and right mains) alone, I could buy 5 uber gaming PCs from scratch - including large 4k monitors and the cases, modern MB/GPUs, mice, keyboards, speakers, everything... So now you know why I am after better sound from my PC. And I know it can be had for a reasonable sum of $. Also in my main system, I use OP-OCC copper exclusively (except the pair from my TT to phono preamp are OCC Silver). All ICs, power cords and speaker cables are Audio Sensibility OCC copper. So I am quite familiar with the benefits of OCC copper and believe in it.Rewinding a bit, I demoed a PS Audio Stellar GainCell DAC a couple of week back. And it's a keeper for sure, so I ordered and await a brand new unit. In the meantime, I wanted to rid my system of the dull/rolled off treble from the Audio Engine speakers and ordered a pair of Focal Alpha 50 studio monitors. And to match all of those, I have 3 AQ NRG-2 power cords coming in. So I knew at this point my USB had to be the weak link - or would be anyway. I wasn't prepared to hear much of a difference with my current Schiit Modi 2 MB DAC and the A5+ speakers. But it certainly made a great improvement to restore more of the highs even though it's fighting the speakers rolled-off treble. Dare I say that the USB cable made almost as much of a difference as inserting the PS Audio DAC? Well in frequency response, it almost did. Imaging in some ways was pretty darned close too. And the imaging is what has impressed me most with this USB cable. I get sounds from behind me (out of phase) now where as with the Pangea USB, they'd just be off to the side and hard to place. I never knew a USB cable could make a difference. I bought the Pangea originally due to it's shielding and quality to last. It certainly didn't make any audible difference over my Belkin Gold that it replaced. But this Oyaide sure did. I can't wait to hook up the new speakers with the PS Audio DAC and hear how it sounds. I can thoroughly recommend this cable! I couldn't imagine anything out there at this price point sounding better - as long as you like more treble extension and not warm, romantic sound with rolled-off highs. You can look to the Pangea for that.
