This is a unique brush!! It is big, with a nice wooden handle. It is comfortable to hold and the amazing thing is that when it is wet, the hairs come to a point. The brush easily glides across the paper. It is great for making enzos. I then like to decorate my enzos with inkdrawings. It is good for making washes and backgrounds. It can be loaded with a couple different colors at the same time. I then like to make ink drawings on the backgrounds. It can also be used for large calligraphy. The brush comes with a storage container, and a nice bamboo wrap. The wrap has pockets and can be used for storage of other smaller brushes also. This is a must have brush and I am so happy that I have added it to my collection. It is also reasonably priced for such quality.

I've only recently begun doing large character calligraphy and luckily found this large brush. It is magnificent. The quality is truly outstanding. The bristles have been arranged and shaped accurately and smoothly. When the brush is charged with ink or water, the bristles come to a very nice point. There is good spring to the brush and it keeps you in excellent contact with the paper surface. Some larger brushes can lose control/shape quickly when in use, but not this one. The ebony handle is luxurious, heavy and well-shaped for comfort. It's made to last and came in a very well-made bamboo wrap that has pockets which you can use for smaller brushes. If you are interested in larger brush work or calligraphy I highly recommend this brush. An outstanding value.

I am very pleased with the brush and the casings included with the brush. I will be using it in my practice of Enso Paintings and demonstrations. I first learn about Enso through a Professor of Art and Ecology. I have been in this 'spiritual' practice for 5 years. The brush is very well made. As soon as I learned about this brush I had to include it as part of my ensemble of brushes!

As a Chinese Brush Painter who is still learning, I am always exploring new paper and brushes to see what works best for me. HMay paper and brushes are excellent. This new brush purchase is great - a HUGE brush great for larger paintings and large strokes - great for free style painting. The brush and paper were packaged with great care as well as in beautiful golden tubes, good for storing the paper in its rolled state to prevent wrinkles and make compact for easy storage. I will return to HMay for more supplies for certain!

This brush arrived yesterday and I was eager to see it. First it came in a brush wrap inside a decorative tube. The brush could not have been better protected and in better condition. The bristles are soft and bouncy. I own a smaller version of this brush which I have used for commissioned ensoes and large lotus painting. Though it worked well I could not get the large sizes needed for large compositions. This will do it. It is a wonderful addition to my brushes.

Outstanding product! Large, well made, substantial brush with thick, lush brush head. Comes with bamboo wrap and protective tube. WOW! Can't wait to paint with this beauty! I see BIG Enso paintings in my near future!

Luxurious Large Calligraphy Brush. I use this for washes on large art pieces. Comes rolled in bamboo-like mat with room to store several other smaller brushes. Lost a few bristles to start, as anticipated. Recommend you wash, swish and tap out water, then allow to dry before using the first time.
