I picked up Momofuku Chili Crunch by David Chang (5.5 oz) because I kept hearing about how good it is, and honestly, it lives up to the hype.Right away the aroma hits — it has that rich, toasted chili smell with a hint of garlic and savory crunch. The texture is fantastic. It’s not just oil with spice; you get crispy bits in every spoonful that add real depth and crunch to whatever you’re putting it on.I’ve used this on eggs, noodles, tacos, and roasted veggies so far, and in every case it elevates the dish. A small spoonful goes a long way, and it adds heat plus umami without overpowering the rest of the flavors. It’s the kind of condiment that makes a simple meal feel intentional.The heat level is noticeable but very manageable. It’s spicy, but it’s the good kind of spicy — not one-note burn, but layered with flavor that keeps you going back for a little more.If I had one minor note, it’s that it’s easy to go a bit heavy if you’re not careful, so I’ve learned to start with a small amount and add more as needed.Overall, this chili crunch has become a staple in my fridge. Very spicy with crunch, but not intolerable spice. It must be stirred, as the crunch and spices sink to the bottom of the jar. I bought this because somebody on Instagram recommended it as an inclusion in sourdough bread. I got it on sale and as an auto ship for less than $8. This 5.5 oz jar will last a long time!! Because it is very oily, I tried to tilt spoon strain it a little bit and only added a small amount to my sourdough. I added the chili crunch while shaping the dough. It definitely has a kick when baked in a bread. It’s tolerable for a baked spice, but it is spicy. I did not like the flavor right out of the jar, but I do like it baked inside the bread. Next time I’ll add some cheddar cheese too!

Omg that is a jar of spicy umami deliciousness. The ingredients pair perfectly , the quality is very good and the size matches the value. The spiciness is perfect, it comes with the perfect spoon and wonderful any time. I just had it with taquitos , so gooood .

I have used this in the past for marination needs for the meats when I barbecue at home. The taste is very flavorful and gives a nice kick to the meat. Reasonably price as well compared to local store. I would recommend these for any seasoning needs at home kitchen. Can pair well for many needs in the kitchen.

This is the best off the shelf chili oil I have tried. It has a really good crunch and you can clearly taste the garlic. It is not overly spicy and has a slight sweetness that balances everything out.It works well on eggs, soup, rice, and even roasted vegetables. A little goes a long way, so even though the price is on the higher side, the jar lasts quite a while.If you want a chili oil with texture and depth of flavor without extreme heat, this is a solid option.

Probably the best chili crunch I have ever had and I've tried many. Good heat, very complex and flavorful, and not as salty as some others.

I loved this product. I bought it to enhance my stir fry veggies and it gives it not only a nice crunch, but the flavor is great. The garlic taste is good and not overpowering. It is not too spicy and I like that. I have also used it when I eat my edamame. Extra flavor. Good price.

It’s ok. Doesn’t taste bad but doesn’t have much flavor. Doesn’t live up to the reviews. Fly By Jing extra spicy is by far our family of eights favorite! Much more flavorful.
