Has a design flaw - but gives some stability to a smartphone for videos ...
Works fine - gives some stability to a smartphone for videos and good for "selfies" - not as good as a glidecam , but better than hand-held.Also gives some height to look over hedges and over people's heads.Worth the money - very useful and well made.IMPORTANT UPDATE.There is a small rubber piece on the sprung top which holds the phone - this rubber piece can come out of the sprung metal top of the holder, and I was lucky to find mine on the floor. If you lose this rubber the phone will not hold in place because it slips on the metal. I have superglued the rubber piece to the sprung metal part. You need to be careful not to lose the rubber piece, because without it the phone won't hold in.Upon reflection, the design of the phone mount is poor - it can cost you a lot if your phone falls out because the rubber piece gets lost.Also, the phone mount I received does not resemble the one illusstrated with two mount holes and a back support. The one illustrated looks much more substantial and well-made than the one that I received. The mount shown is the iStabilizer Smartmount which is sold separately and is more substantial than the one provided with the monopod.

Brilliant gadget!!
Bought for 16 year old daughter at her request .. couldn't quite see the point of it until she started using it!! She has had fantastic fun with it and is rarely without it when out and about!! It fits iphone 5 perfectly!!
