No, not at all. It is very likely you will find other peltier chips with various performance characteristics that will also say SR on it. Do not use this as a way of determining chip quality or performance. There are several easy ways to test the true amp draw of these chips using a battery and a multimeter, you can contact us for more detailed help. Many 12706 and 12715's on the market are under-powered because the thermoelectic material is very expensive and it's a fast way to reduce chip cost, is to use less thermoelectric material. Only by testing can you be sure of what you are getting.

1.5 inches but very close to 1 and 9/16 x 1and 5/8 I took this without my glass's on when I did my project, I went with 1.5 x1.5 inches. I hope that helps.
