Will this handle cutting through pvc raceway style wire conduit?

If you mean "Wall Cord Cover Cable Raceways" I looked it up, then I bet yes it will. this will cut decent size branches also the blades are crazy sharp and pretty tough. I like to be able to slightly cut the cover off wiring and will slice through straight 2ga. braided wire with easy cleanly. I use to have a craftsman type like this and wore out the screws that hold the blade over 23 years use. This is just as tough. Get extra blades while you get one nice to have extras in the handle waiting if you need one. I bought the 4" blade model.

Does anyone know how thick the blades are?

Looks to be right at 30/1000 inch. Says "Made in USA" on the blades. I like the spare blades in the handle too.

Don't try to cut boxes with this tool. Almost impossible. Branch maybe, but not cardboard! If you can get it to cut up boxes, let me know how?

A blade tool like this is NOT designed to cut cardboard unless its tube type it will slice it. It will cut most anything even thick 2GA. electrical wire with ease and smooth. I even prune tree branches and flowers. It is endless what this will cut smooth even pvc moldings for in the house. If you need boxes cut, use a box cutter tool and blade but not using this cutter like scissors this is not that kind of tool.

I am trying to replace the blade and the blade will not line up correctly. The blade is too high up in the unit. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

you may have the wrong replacement blades as the right ones go in the slot when loose, you do not have to remove the entire tightener just loosen enough to pull the blade out and insert a new one, close it by hand some and tighten the screws.
