Writer's Market 2018: The Most Trusted Guide to Getting Published Paperback – 29 Sept. 2017

It's the first one I've bought and I think it will be very useful when I resurrect my writing business. Some of the entries are already out of date as one entry has stopped trading. Another has a really spectacular £4 a word fee mentioned which is probably 4p as it's a British publication. Apart frim that I think overall it will be useful. I'm impressed by the addition of fees and helpful comments to the entries. I wish the directories for UK writing markets had these included.

Any freelance writer should have this on their shelf. It's impossible to collate a book which suits every writer and their personal needs, but this one isn't far off. If you are a jobbing writer looking for information on where to submit articles, or you're looking for publishers or competitions, this is a really good place to start. My only complaint is that there isn't much of the British market in there. However, the American markets do tend to be open to international submissions, so that isn't really a problem for me. As a freelance writer looking for new magazines to submit niche articles to I found it very helpful.
