The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 brings the franchise to its powerful final chapter in which Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) realises the stakes are no longer just for survival--they are for the future. With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends--including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson)--Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to liberate the citizens of Panem, and stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 is directed by Francis Lawrence and features an acclaimed cast including Academy Award-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Academy Award-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland reprising their original roles from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Excellent and faithful re-telling of the books
The whole of the Hunger Games (book) trilogy is very faithfully captured by the four film adaptations, and this final episode of the series is no exception. Katniss continues to come across as the same mixture of hero and scared 16-year-old that the stories in the books portray, and the closing sequences of the film are a faithful portrayal of the books' ending. I would thoroughly recommend this film to anyone, but I would also recommend watching the first 3 films first (in their correct sequence).

A fitting end to a superb series of movies. Didn't like the original when I first watched it then saw Jennifer Lawrence on the Graham Norton Show so watched The Hunger Games again and realised that I hadn't really given this excellent film the credit it deserved. If you're undecided as to whether to give these 4 films a spin then stop procrastinating and go for it, you won't be disappointed!

Game Over
So finally we've reached the end, it's all over for The Hunger Games crew. After Mockingjay Part 1 eased the pieces into place for the endgame, here Part 2 ups the ante and pulls it all together with a fair amount of entertainment alongside the soul searching. It's relatively dark stuff for the most part as Katniss navigates her way through the last knockings of the war on Panem. Death, destruction, double crosses, brain washing etc are all on the agenda as the "war is bad" message lands front and centre. Affairs of the heart are still to be resolved also as the love triangle of sorts reaches its conclusion.Even in a final tale told across two lengthy films, certain characters are still sadly short changed and not everyone gets the big send off. Such is life, there's still plenty going on here and enough sturdy set pieces to get the blood flowing. At the end of the day it's still the Katniss story at heart and it's a solid enough ending to the epic journey.

Good movie
I love the books and this final instalment of the films doesn't disappoint. It's not 100% true to the books but no book to film adaptation ever is. I personally feel the film is done very well and I enjoyed watching it and being surprised, something I didn't think would happen as I know the books inside out!
