Beautiful Lippy & Great Coverage With A Matte Finish
This comes in quite a uniquely shaped and designed tube, with a marble effect appearance. It looks swish, and itโs quite nice to hold too because of the flat sides. Itโs a regular lipstick inside, so just twist the base to pop up the lippy. I like the attention to detail here because it has Dear Dahlia in script font across the rose-gold holder and the initials DH printed into the lip stick colour. I've got this in Sophie, a lovely colour that's not too brown or too red so it works well with my pale skin. I like that this is cruelty-free, which is important. Itโs also vegan, for those to whom this applies. Itโs a more natural product but without any animal derivatives. Itโs nice not to get any chemical scent as Iโve had with a few other lipsticks in the past. Instead, you get a mix of natural essential oils. Iโve taken a close-up picture of the box showing the ingredients as itโs not the easiest to read. The colour is designed to be highly pigmented and long-lasting, while also being a little hydrating from the cacao seed butter. Iโd agree with that - the colour does come out very nicely and evenly, too. Itโs matte and seems to stay nicely without peeling or bits rubbing off after just a few minutes. It stays quite well, but itโs not a lip stain so it does wear. Then again, thatโs my preference as Iโm not keen on lip stains, and this one does last better than my usual lipsticks. Itโs lovely to apply as itโs quite creamy. Itโs not too dry and while itโs not the most moisturising, it doesnโt feel heavy or too constricting when itโs on. It looks fantastic, with a rich colour thatโs understated, in a matte finish with good, even coverage. I love how it looks, I feel good wearing it, and itโs definitely a step up from what I usually use in terms of appearance and longevity. As well as colour, this apparently provides protective and anti-ageing benefits by way of the Dahlia Variabilis Flower Extract. Quite an interesting element as itโs not something Iโd ever come across before. Itโs ยฃ30 at the time of writing, which makes it the priciest lipstick Iโve ever tried. Iโm not sure I could justify the price personally but I do really like it, so I can see that itโs worth more than a budget brand. Itโs definitely more of a luxury lip stick, from the tube design to the ingredients. It feels special to use and it does the job very well.

Gorgeous, with a but...
This is a gorgeous lipstick and may well be my new favourite. You get the lipstick and a tiny safety leaflet in a branded cardboard box. Everything about this lipstick leans towards a luxury experience. The lipstick case is octagonal in shape and is a gold colour, inlaid with white and grey marble (plastic) panels, which do look effective. It is a pull-apart case, reasonably easy to open, and it closes with a satisfying click. The lipstick is a twist-up action, and it is the usual angled bullet-shape, with the initials DD embossed into it. The colour is a gorgeous neutral colour, with a matte finish that does have impact. I can have sensitive skin, but this passed the patch test with no issues. It is very easy to apply and literally glides on. Sadly, this also means that it glides off, and it does transfer easily; I left marks on a cup and it couldnโt cope with a sandwich. I wouldnโt say that this is a long-lasting lipstick, and it did require numerous top-ups throughout the day. That said, the wear was even and it didnโt look odd or two-tone at any point. It never looked cakey, and it didnโt dry my lips out. There is little fragrance or taste to it, and what there is, is not unpleasant. The green credentials are good in terms of being vegan and cruelty-free, but it is made in Korea, so thereโs a transport impact. At the time of writing this review, the cost is ยฃ30.00, and as much as I like this, and I do like it, I would expect a better performance. The number of top-ups required through an average day means that this is unlikely to last for long, and that has an impact on the overall value.

You have to reapply often.
This arrives in a marbled design box measuring approx 8cm x 2.5cm x 2.5cm. This matte lipstick comes in an octagonal tube with a white/grey marbled effect body & edges trimmed in a coppery rose gold colour. It's flat bottomed so you can lay it on it's side or on end without fear of it rolling off the table which is nice. I actually rather liked the Amber colour, but that is always going to be a personal choice, & I like a matte finish lipstick sometimes - this is definitely matte. What I didn't like was having to reapply it so often. I found it very quickly wore off the sides of my mouth where my lips are most often together which was surprisingly noticeable. I thought the first time I'd somehow forgotten to apply it, but by the second, third etc.. time I knew it just wore off that easily. Strangely, it didn't leave much of a trace on a cup when I drank, but I was able to remove this completely by licking my lips & wiping them with a tissue. For a day to day lipstick, I expect it to last more than half an hour & I want to go out without having to constantly check in a mirror. I liked everything else about this lipstick including the fact it's cruelty free, but the longevity is a deal breaker for me.

Feels luxurious when applied but far too expensive.
This is a matt lipstick by Dear Dahlia. The colour name is Betty, it is red with a slight orange tint. Very bright and colourful. Completely Vegan which is what I always go for, it has nothing in it at all which is derived from animals, so that is a big tick from me. Glides on smoothly and easily, the colour on lips seems to be the same as in the tube, sometimes when we buy lipstick we choose the colour we want, get home and find it's a different colour when applied on our lips, this lipstick is the true colour. Glides on smoothly and feels nice and only one coat is needed. This is a luxurious lipstick and stays on a very long time but when fiirst applied, give it a minute or two before drinking from a cup else you will get a lipstick mar but once it's settled it doesn't come off at all The price is higher than most lipsticks I have tried, the quality is good but it does need re applying during the day after eating. I do like this lipstick but think it would be out of a lot people's price range. Thank you for reading my review, I do hope it helped.

Gorgeous colour
This is a really lovely lipstick and I adore the colour. It has a matt finish and feels really good when you put it on. It doesn't feel sticky but does feel smooth and I do think it moisturises the lips as well as it felt great when applied. I applied this and I did find that it didn't stay on too long when I was eating and drinking, it would need to be reapplied after a meal. I did wear it on an evening out and after a couple of hours, it had virtually gone, so it needed another application. The good thing about this is that a little does go a long way and I always use a brush to apply lipstick so this does help. It is a pricy lipstick in my opinion, I am not a heavy makeup user and only wear it maybe once a week if I go out. Having said that this is really nice and I can feel a difference in the texture of this one compared to my cheaper ones. It is a good product and I would recommend it.

Fantastic lipstick - from the product to the way it looks - amazing, but not cheap
At first glance, the lipstick's packaging screams luxury. The attention to detail, the weight, and the designโeverything hints at the brand's commitment to ensuring a premium experience for its users. But the luxury doesn't end with just the aesthetics; it extends to the lipstick's formula. Application is a dream. The term 'effortless' isn't just a marketing gimmickโit genuinely describes the experience. The lipstick glides on with ease, delivering an intense pigment in just one swipe. 'SOPHIE' is a versatile shade, suitable for various occasions, from daily wear to more glamorous events. Its matte finish is neither overly drying nor uncomfortably tacky, striking a balance that's often hard to find in many matte lipsticks. What sets 'Dear Dahlia' apart, however, is its commitment to being vegan and cruelty-free. In a world where ethical consumerism is gaining traction, it's heartening to see brands take a stand without compromising on quality. The inclusion of naturally scented essential oils not only elevates the sensory experience of applying the lipstick but also assures users of its natural origins. Yes, it does come with a hefty price tag, but considering its performance, ethical standards, and luxurious experience, it justifies the investment. After all, makeup isn't just about enhancing one's features; it's also about the experience, the confidence it instils, and the statement it makes. And with 'Dear Dahlia's Lip Paradise Effortless Matte Lipstick, you're making a statement of luxury, ethics, and undeniable quality. Highly recommended for those willing to invest in a superior lip product.

Intense Colour but a bit Drying
This lipstick certains ticks a number of the boxes potential buyers would be looking at when choosing a brand. It is cruelty free, vegan friendly and offers a really intense shade of whatever shade ordered-in my case a deep red called Margo. It also comes nicely boxed in a smart dispenser so this could be a gift if required. The formulation is complicated, but does feature several essential oils including lavender and orange which is reflected in the texture which is a touch looser and easier to apply than some, offering good coverage across the lips. The intensity of colour will suit women who like to make a statement and your other make up will need to be bolder to match this lipstick's impact which is matte but vivid. What is not good here is the list of ingredients on the box and the tiny explanatory booklet which is totally unreadable and cheap looking. My other qualm here is that despite the oils this can still leave the lips rather dry particularly in hot weather and there is no specific indication of sun protection as far as I could see. The price is all the money for what is on offer here and this lipstick remains most recommendable to those women (or men) who want genuine intensity of colour.

Good intensity and durability of colour, BUT slightly tingly, and expensive. Pleasing design
I can't really usefully comment on specific colours, as I would never BUY a new lipstick I'd not used from a range, online. Like buying perfumes, I think lipstick shades need testing against your skin. I was delighted to be offered so many shades from this range, and selected several which looked similar to tones of colour which work well for me - but, as said, subtle variations will occur depending on the natural colour of your own lips. So generally I really like the well presented, rather luxurious lipstick case design, which will easily withstand rolling around in a handbag etc. I normally always apply lipstick with a lipbrush, so am never too bothered by the shaping of the stick at its pointed end anyway. This didn't feel drying on the lips, but there was a very slight tingle which I don't really like - its a very low dial down of irritation, but shouldn't be there. I like that it is vegan, and like that intensity of shade. I suspect though that it is pretty over-priced as a marketing ploy. Some equate high priced items with quality, but IMO that's just spin.

Long-Lasting Luxury: Dear Dahlia's Matte Lipstick
I'm thoroughly impressed with the Dear Dahlia Lip Paradise Effortless Matte Lipstick in the shade "GWEN." This product lives up to its name with a luxurious matte finish that stays vibrant for hours. The high pigment color delivers a rich, intense look that is perfect for any occasion. It's vegan and cruelty-free, which is a big plus for me, and it's naturally scented with essential oils, adding a subtle, pleasant touch. The only drawback is that it can be challenging to remove due to its long-lasting formula, so be sure to have a good makeup remover. Overall, this lipstick is a fantastic choice if you want durability and quality in your lip color.

Surprisingly Creamy
I admit I've never been a fan of matte lipstick (much preferring the glossy stuff), mostly because all I've tried has been very drying on my lips. But all the "in" folks seem to be swearing by matte, and it does stay vibrant longer, so I figured I'd give it a try. And I'm pleasantly surprised. To begin with, the case is almost spectacular - it's almost worth the price of admission all by itself. But the lipstick itself is much creamier than I expected, and it doesn't seem to be drying at all. Add in the longer-lasting color, and I'm sold. As for that color, I will say that the "Gwen" shade I got looks very pink in the online photos but is far closer to bright red in the tube (fine with me, actually - I'm not a pink person.

Very pigmented!
This lipstick is so bright! It is perfect if you want a big pop of color with your lips! The packaging and tube is super cute, I honestly haven't seen anything like it before. It applies super smoothly and doesn't leave any clumps or uneven spots. It is super pretty on and has a great finish that is matte, but not drying. After some time, one day I opened the tube and twisted it up and the lipstick just fell off. I always applied it with the product only out of the tube as much as I needed it to be so I'm not sure what happened, but regardless the product is so pretty!
