Overview the company began its business in 1985 as Double J (Midlands) Ltd, which was created to specialize in supplying parts to wheelchair and bicycle industries, by its current CEO, Phil Taylor and his brother, whose background was in bicycle manufacturing. In May 2008, Schwalbe UK Ltd moved to a special, modern telford facility. The storage capacity is one third larger than its previous storage and is enough land on site to be expanded by another 50% as needed. It currently holds up to 500,000 1.4 million tires and tubes. The Schwalbe brand bicycle tyres can be found from the USA to Australia and Japan to South Africa. In Europe we are the market leader. There are two reasons for this success: on the one hand - we are tyre fanatics, absolutely specialized in bicycles and for a few years also in wheelchairs. According to our tyres it can be found anywhere, but not exclusively in the specialist traders because our mind, qualified advice and good service are a must. The tyres do feel a bit stodgy, even when fully inflated, but they don't seem to hurt momentum too much so it doesn't bother me too much. After using a set of gatorskins and getting an average of around a puncture a month, I no longer care about riding over broken glass! The tyres do feel a bit stodgy, even when fully inflated, but they don't seem to hurt momentum too much so it doesn't bother me too much. The grip is pretty decent but don't turn to hard when going quickly - the back tyre loses grip a tiny bit easier than you might expect.

tyre experience
These tyres are very solid and relatively easy to fit, but I did follow a youtube guide and pushed the reflective strip well into the rim centre whilst using 2 old toe strap clip buckles to keep them there. No tyre levers required! ..as for durability a bit early to say but should hold up better than my last set of continentals, they were lighter but soon punctured on a coast to coast run. .

Excellent tires, on all terrains
I currently have a MB that i ride over all terrains and surfaces on, last summer i started to ride longer distances on the road and wanted more speed so i was considering investing in a road bike or a hybrid (so i could continue mixing it up with the trails and roads), in the end i decided to buy 29" wheels and these tires as Schwalbe claim they're good over any surface. After a few weeks of being scared to death of the bike slipping away from underneath me, i found that they were better than the nobbly tires i had on before which had slipped away. I've now rode over every surface with these tires, including ice and snow and i'm amazed by them, (they'll ride in snow to a depth of about 6-7 inch) Even snow over mud they gripped to around 20% incline! Glass? Thorns? I don't even avoid anymore, i'm just reminded of a time long ago when i would have risked my life making sudden evasive maneuvers to steer round broken headlights and hedge cuttings on the side of the road, as i ride on, smiling

Brilliant Tyres
Very happy with both sets of tyres that I bought for two bikes. The extra cushioning helps to reduce the higher sensitivity to bumps that comes from the higher air pressure. The result is a step change in improved roadability - something not mentioned in the descriptions and a standout feature among kevlar-belted tyres..
