Mosquito season has been a nightmare. I had so many ankle bites and leg bites this year it was crazy. I decided to purchase this and white the reviews are all over the place it did work for me. The only thing that I wish is that the blue light was stronger. The handle for this was flimsy and had I hung this anywhere it would have broken. I tossed the handle and keep this in my room on my desk. Works wonders and keeps me and my little senior dog from mosquito bites. Poor thing was getting eaten alive until I found this.

Mixed review
I bought a couple of BK-21 Bug Zappers near the beginning of the summer season. There are several solar zappers listed on Amazon with different names/pictures/prices and with the same model number. Paying more doesn't get you a better model. The good: The BK-21 REALLY kills bugs! The unit can be easily be hung from a hook or branch or placed on a table. On a full days solar charge it still lasts a couple of hours, on an electric charge it last most of the night. I received one defective unit, which was replaced without a hassle. The Bad: The device doesn't automatically turn on at dusk. The solar charger died during the season (not really weather proof) one of the units won't even charge by electric anymore. Sometimes the white light would turn on by itself without operator intervention.I wouldn't buy this model again because of the short life span but I'm sold on the concept of a workable solar bug zapper that can be placed anywhere and will probably buy a different model next year.Final update: It's almost winter and the final unit died with moisture leaking out of the seam beneath the solar panel, defiantly not weatherproof.

It works if it’s plugged in
I have it plugged in and it works great but once you unplug it you can see the light dim by a lot- which doesn’t attract as many of the little buggers-

bug killer
used last night for first time and it kills small flying insects, but only in a small area. i will keep for table on back porch, but will purchase a larger, more powerful unit for the area.it is very light weight to the point I worry about durability, but time will tell.

It works!
Bought 2 because I have a small furbaby that goes in & out all day. Since I live in the south, every time a fly, gnat or mystery bug comes in with him. I set one near the enter/exit door and the other one near my house plants. They attract flying bugs too. The first zap was a little startling but after that I just knew it was working.

Doesn't Last
Worked great at first. Catching primarily midges and mosquitoes. Charged quickly, either by sun or usb. Left outside, unused for about 2 weeks. When I tried to use it, nothing. Should have been charged from sun. Brought inside, no evidence of damage, charged from usb. The transformer got quite hot as well as the top of the zapper. Doesn't work at all now. Conclusion is the battery or charging circuit broken. Owned for about 2 months used less than 10 times. I would be careful with this purchase.

This was a the perfect gift add on to a hour warming!, it was used upon receiving the gift, it made me really happy since we know that many gifts end up being re gifted, this was not the case, a very useful product, it works well, the lantern on top and the zapper below, it come with the convenient handle, the charging cable and little brush for cleaning it too.
