Makes Planting Bulbs and Flowers So Much Faster!
Iโve used both the 1.6" x 16.5" and 3.5" x 16" augers so far and have been really happy with them. The 1.6" size was perfect for planting tulip bulbs, while the 3.5" worked great for my hollyhocks. Having the variety of sizes in the kit makes it pretty versatile and was a big reason I felt it was worth the price even though this isnโt the cheapest set. One little trick that worked really well was cutting an auger-sized hole in a piece of cardboard and laying it over the planting spot. It keeps the dirt from scattering everywhere as you drill, and afterward you can easily push the loose soil right back into the hole. I used an M18 drill with both sizes and they had plenty of digging power in my relatively soft soil, even with some rocks mixed in. Of course, how well they dig is going to depend quite a bit on the power of your drill and what kind of soil you have. The augers themselves feel extremely sturdy, and I really donโt see them bending or breaking unless youโre trying to put them through some seriously rough ground. The hex shank is also nice because it locks into the drill well and helps prevent slipping. The 1.6" auger was easy enough to use freehand, but with the 3.5"โand especially the 4"โI would definitely recommend using your drillโs stabilizer/side handle. If one of the larger augers suddenly grabs a rock or root, thereโs enough torque there to hurt your wrist. Theyโre also pretty precise for quickly putting holes exactly where you want them. My wife was comfortable using the 1.6" auger but struggled a little with the 3.5". I think that was more about getting used to controlling the drill and the extra torque of the larger bit than anything wrong with the auger. Long grass did occasionally wrap around the shaft while I was using them, but it pulled off easily and didnโt cause much of an issue. Changing and removing the bits has also been straightforward. Overall, these have made planting much quicker and easier. Theyโre sturdy, powerful with the right drill, come in a useful range of sizes, and can handle quite a few different digging jobs around the yard. My wife and I are very happy with the set.

Does what I want it to do.
Perfect size for drilling holes in the yard and garden for filling with compost or vermicompost. Nice and sturdy and makes deep enough holes to get the good stuff where it needs to go. Very handy and happy with the purchase.

Works but be careful
I used this to dig a hole in Texas clay soil for my Starlink mast (16 gauge corner fence galvanized steel pipe). The good: It works. The steep spiral causes it to pull down very aggressively. So go down 6 inches and then pull it out to empty the loosened dirt. Then go down another six inches and pull out the loose dirt. Repeat to desired depth. I went down 32โ. The 2 3/8โ outside diameter post fit snug and I needed to pound it down the last 2 ft using a 3# hammer and a scrap of 2x4 to protect the post. Perfect. The not so good. The hex collar at the end of the end of the spiral section broke free and spun in the drill chuck. But the extension section still screwed into the actual shaft of the spiral section and its end is solid. I recommend attaching the extension right at the beginning, even if only drilling a few inches for plants, to avoid damaging that hex collar. I rate this tool good enough for occasional or light duty use. If you need to be drilling lots of deep holes look for a much more stout alternative. For my one time mast installation it was inexpensive and did the job.

Easy to use auger digger love it
As a person that works in the yard all the time, planting bulbs and everything else this came in so handy it works really well. It digs holes to make everything easier to do. I highly recommend it if youโre tired of trying to dig holes with your hands.

Made Planting So Much Easier
I purchased this auger drill bit to help loosen the soil and dig holes for new plants in our front yard, and it worked extremely well. Our soil can be pretty compact, but this attachment made the job much faster and easier than digging everything by hand. It attached easily to our drill, cut through the soil effectively, and saved us a lot of time and effort. We were able to plant multiple flowers and shrubs with much less strain on our backs and hands. If youโre doing any gardening, landscaping, or planting projects, I definitely recommend this auger bit. It was a great purchase and made a big difference in getting our yard projects done efficiently. ๐ฑ๐ท๐ชด๐ช

Satisfied With The Operation
I used the 3.5" drill bit once with a 20v battery powered drill motor and was satisfied with operation. My volunteer group planted around 400 small potted plants. I drilled as many holes as three people with shovels and hand trowels. The only problem was the flower beds had buried small tree roots and decorative rocks which drained four batteries. Next time I will use a 120v electric drill motor as needed.

Very heavy and hard to use
This didnt work as well as I hoped. Maybe if youre drilling into completely soft fluffy soil it works well, but any resistance and it will not spin. They are also very heavy.

Worked so well i bought another one
It made digging so much faster and easier, and it saved me a lot of back pain. I put my drill through the ringer using this, and it held up great. This worked so well that I ended up buying another one in a larger size. If you do any gardening or landscaping, this is a must-have tool. It saves time, reduces the effort needed, and makes digging holes much easier. Definitely one of the better purchases Iโve made.

Item without a drill
The auger was supplied without the drill. It is just like a piece of rod without the drill. In the picture there is a drill attached to the augur . But in the user manual they are suggesting to use electric drills. Amazon should refrain from advertising such vendors.

awesme tool
Bought this to help loosen up the soil around my rhubarb. I worked like a charm. I used my cordless drill and it easily went down into the compacted soil and with the drill in reverse it easily came back out. I have also used this to loosen up the soil which helped greatly in digging a hole. The metal is sturdy and it seems to be constructed well.

Save a lot of time drilling 12" deep holes (for installation of bamboo poles for fencing)
I used it to drill 12'" deep holes (7 in total) to install 1 inch diameter bamboo poles for a temporary wire mesh fence separating our yard. (We'll keep pets on one side of the yard while spraying herbicides on the other side). Half of the holes were drilled very quickly. For normal soil found in backyard, it took about a minute to drill to a depth of 12" with a 3/8 electric corded drill. When drilling in the clay area, mixed with a fair bit of small rocks (1/2" size), there was some wear observed at the leading edge of the spiral. On several occasions, the electric drill stalled because the bit probably hit larger rocks underneath and could not move on. I think I had also chipped a portion of the leading edge of the bit in one of these cases. It was understood that I was using the bit as a construction tool instead of a garden tool! The electrical drill was quite hot to touch too, indicating lots of power being transferred to the drilling bit. Yet it survived breakage, just some wear observed at the leading spiral edge. I would recommend this tool because the drilling work (for planting, for example) can be done very quickly. Just remember to ease off on drill speed if hitting rocks.
