Your dog will eat them
I have the pickiest Husky; this is the first supplement I found that he’ll eat.

Texture appears pasty - dog no likie. Taste must not be that great either.
The dog took this chew and spit it out several times. Meanwhile, it got damp and sticky. I broke it and it crumbled into 3 pieces and he ate 1 piece and wouldn't eat the rest. The remaining 2 pieces crumbled more and I had to pick them up one by one from the carpet. I dumped it into his food bowl and he ate them with his food. The next time, I put a whole one on his dog food and he ate it but you could see that it was all stuck in his mouth like peanut butter, and he struggled to get it down. After that, my sister put it whole in his food and he spit it out on the floor. The 2nd time, he broke it up into pieces and spit it out on the floor, so my sister got mad and told me to take the container home.I found that if I break it up and put it in his food, he will eat it, but obviously, this chew doesn't taste good enough for him to eat it whole and he doesn't like the pastiness of it.I can't really speak to the other touted benefits since he hasn't eaten it consistently, so that is something you will have to figure out yourself.Tip: don't give your dog the recommended dose to start. Give half or less because the probiotics can give your dog diarrhea if he/she is not used to it, and I'm pretty sure that won't be too fun!

Meh.
My Australian cattle dog has seasonal allergies and I thought I would give these a try since he eats Wellness brand Food. But I haven’t noticed as much of an improvement with them as I have with the native pet allergy chews. He also won’t eat them. I have to crush them into a powder and put it in his food for him to eat it.

Made dog violently ill
My dog is not known to have a weak stomach but these made her extremely ill. Please use caution when letting your dog test out these treats.

So Happy to Have These!
As with any nutritional supplements, it will take time for me to know how effective these are. This is what I know now 1) Wellness is consistently listed as a top recommendation by vets year after year 2) they have been around for almost 100 years and 3) my picky eaters love these supplements. One of my dogs had allergies even as a puppy. Overtime, her allergies have worsened and now she gets an allergy shot twice a year. These shots are expensive ($80 each) and expected to be effective for 30 days, which gets us through the worst of the season, and then I add an allergy supplement to her food for the remainder of the year. She is now in her 10th year and I was planning to add another shot or two for the year. But, I have had to use a competitor's supplement for this because Wellness did not make one. They seemed to work ~okay. I compared my existing supplement to Wellness Shield and while some of the active ingredients overlap, most do not. My expectation is that this Immune Shield will keep her allergies in check better than the other brand. The best part? The price is exactly the same as what I currently pay for the other brand. If they don't work, I will come back here and update my review. Because the only thing I hate more than wasting money is to see my pup uncomfortable!
