Renegade, Or Halo2

I lost track of Mo some years ago, having much enjoyed his work up to then. This is a heavy meal, and though full of good things - character, humour, his usual fine writing - the picaresque narrative struggles to keep the attention.

Great book with a non-European/American setting and voice.

EXCELLENT IF UNEVEN BOOK.ENJOYABLY POLITICALLY INCORRECT WITH ASTUTE INSIGHTS INTO NATIONAL (PARTICULARLY FILIPINO) FOIBLES.GOOD AND VARIED CHARACTERS WELL DRAWN AND FLESHED OUT.ENDING SOMEWHAT LAME.WORTH READING TWICE (OR MORE EVEN).
