Q: do you need a suspender belt to hold them up? or do they stay up on their own?

Not necessary, but do not use any kind of moisturizer on legs as they will not grip as they should. They will stay up on their own.

Q: I'm 5'10" size 12/14 - should i get the Large size - there is no height on the size chart?

Probably as I am 5'4"size 8 and got the medium. I would comment though that although I love the colour they are a lot finer than 20 den. |I wanted 15 den but they didn't have it. They are more like 10 denier which is too fine for every day wear in my opion
