It’s a nice compromise between lots of features and a home piano for learning.I picked it because of that reason precisely.I’ve been learning to play since January of this year (2024). I own a microphone that I was able to plug into it to sing along.Pros:It looks stylish.This piano will accompany me for a long time along my learning journey.It’s a well-known brand.It has an on-screen menu that allows you to select everything you need and enough buttons for simpler and direct access to most useful stuff.It has all the connections I wanted (Bluetooth, auxiliar in and out, midi, microphone, etc.).It’s not too heavy, although I would not move it around.The specific bundle I got came with the furniture stand. It looks great. It’s not too hard to assemble.The furniture stand has the three pedals in the right configuration. It feels like an acoustic piano.The bundle comes with free classes from Pianote. I have not used them because I have a different service, but I will take advantage of them over the summer.The accompaniment is really cool. Even at a low skill level, I have been using it and it’s fun. It sounds great.It can use the Roland phone/tablet app. The app has many features.The key action is very realistic. It feels heavier than the Casio and Yamaha. I wish I could pair the glossy keys of the Yamaha with the weight of this piano. The white keys of this piano are matte. They have a faux texture, supposedly emulating ivory. The black keys don’t have a texture to them. It feels good overall.Cons:The sound didn’t impress me. I had the chance to test this model in person at a local music store before I bought it. It sounded muffled. They had another model (Fp-30x I believe it was) and it sounded great, so I assumed that the one I was testing had been tweaked by customers into sounding muffled. It has so many settings to change the way it sounds that I didn’t believe it was the piano itself. When I ordered it and installed it, it sounded exactly like the unit I had tested (bad; like it was covered with a carpet). I felt a lot of regret. It took me a while (weeks) to tweak the sound with the equalizer and the piano cover settings so it would sound more natural. I almost returned it just for that. I managed to get it to sound much better, but not the way I expected. In the end, I think the other features make it worthwhile, but I was disappointed in the sound; I have to say it.The bundle came with a seat that is not Roland brand. It’s small (for one person only) and a bit low. I have to put a cushion so I am at the right hight (the proper position) so I don’t hurt my hands.The volume for the music over Bluetooth cannot be changed with the sliders. It must be changed on the Bluetooth device (the phone or tablet you connected).You must update the firmware of the piano to gain access to the Roland app. Otherwise, it won’t work well with the app.Updating the firmware requires some knowledge. I am very tech savvy and I could not get it to update. The issue was with the USB drive I was using. Because it’s a modern drive, it uses a formatting system that is not compatible with the piano. I had to reformat the USB drive so the piano could read it. My dad would not have been able to do something like that. He would have given up.I don’t like the voice effects too much. They are gimmicky.There is no separate equalizer for the microphone.The lcd screen is not a modern one. The system is old-fashioned. Monochromatic. The graphic showing the piano cover open, halfway open, or closed, is so low-res that it takes a minute to figure out what it represents.The menus are not easy to navigate. They could have done a better job. It’s ok but not great. It requires some learning and getting used to.Overall, if you don’t mind tweaking the sound, this is a great buy, though.I’m just realizing that I have a laundry list of cons, but I’m just being thorough so future buyers know about them. I LOVE this piano.

This piano is amazing. And this package is great because you get everything you need to start playing right away.

Arrived early and easy to assemble. I'm a novice on piano and my first hour was pure joy of creating insane sounds with an amazing sound engine behind it. Keys have great feel and UI is easy to use even if you're like me and only read the first two pages of the user manual before first play. The aftermarket sustain petal feels great. Austin Bazaar and Roland got a sonic high-five for you and me with this bundle.

Poor quality. My Roland KR350 had far better sound and quality. I thought that the FPE50 would havebetter sound due to the advance in electronics. But it failed .

First of all, Austin Bazaar customer service was very good. And the bundle is a good value, the stand, pedal and seat are decent quality, certainly good enough to get started.About the piano itself: Several of the keys make a "clicking" sound. This appears to be an issue with many Roland keyboards, apparently due to the grease inside. I returned the piano for a replacement, but that one also had keys that click, as well as one that made a tapping sound when released. Obviously some quality control issues at Roland. I didn't feel like taking the chance with a third Roland, so I am now enjoying a Yamaha DGX-670. The unique thing I liked on the Roland was any combination of keys you play, it tells you what chord you are playing on the display. The keys are probably more realistic on the Roland, but are heavy. I also tried a Yamaha p515, and those keys are even heavier, very realistic I guess, but the DGX feels just easier to play. I noticed at least one review of the DGX complaining it's keys were too heavy, so try these pianos out first if possible before you buy. I also tried out a Casio s1100, and those keys were just bad. The DGX also looks better than the Roland in my opinion, and the upward facing speakers are a plus. The Roland does have a lot of great sounds. Anyway, if you want to take a chance and hope you get non-clicking keys, go for this piano, I just wasn't lucky.

First, the 4 stars instead of 5 does not reflect on Roland, it's great! Roland fpe50 piano 5 stars!!!! The 4 stars is because of the stand and bench. Also the 3 pedal bar is MISSING. There was the little square pedal included in the keyboard box but the pedal bar should have been with the keyboard stuff in that huge box. There was a letter sent separate that done part of my order is coming from a different warehouse--maybe that's the pedals?? There were 2 stands in the box, only one stand had hardware, not sure why that happened. Also, the bench legs are missing. The bench wood is split on both sides where it's out together. I wasn't going to use the bench anyway, I'm 5 ft 10 and a larger woman so I didn't think it would work for me, planning to get a nice sturdy bench or use the one at church. When I called the seller they want me to take pics of everything, email them and they will then send me a return paid label to send it all back. I don't want to send back my piano, it's fine, it's just the stand, the missing pedal bar and the legless broken bench thats the issue. I'm weighing my options. Its irritating to spend 1100 and have to send the piano back with the stand, when the piano is not the problem. I am feeling like I wish I'd ordered from a different place but I'll withold judgment on them for now. They were quick to call me back within 10 minutes this morning so I'd say their customer service is acceptable except the return thingUPDATE: Austin Bazaar has honored my purchase by sending the 3 pedal bar that was missing. They've been in contact with me regularly and I'm pleased with my purchase and their service. 5 stars!
