I ordered this 10-pack of mixed bowl lotus seeds and was really impressed—9 out of 10 germinated, which is much better than I expected! After about 2 days, the seeds started sprouting, and by week four, each plant has 2–3 healthy leaves.I started them in a clear bowl on a west-facing windowsill, changing the water daily, and they thrived in that setup. Once they had leaves, I transplanted them to a larger outdoor bowl with water plant soil and placed it on my patio. They're continuing to grow well, and I’m really excited to see them flower in the coming weeks.The seeds were clearly viable and healthy, and they’ve been low-maintenance so far with consistent water changes and sunlight.Tip: Be patient the first few days, and don’t skip changing the water—it really helps prevent rot.

Update - they all died within days of putting the sprouts in the soil. Followed the the instructions do not waste your time or money.Update - now the seeds have sprouted and there are leaves and roots. We planted today 6/9/25 as it took this long to get them sprout.Now we have to wait and see what they will do, followed all directions and timeline was waaaayyyy longer than we thought.So … had no idea you had to soak these and change the water daily. Bit of a hassle and needs to be warm water and in the sun.These are the instructions. We have been in and out of town so have not had a chance to start these. Will after 5/18 which is a few days from the return deadline.Seeds are smaller than expected but will hopefully grow. Will update this review once we get them soaked and started just letting other beware of the timeline intended for this.

I planted these in a small shallow bowl with pond mud, and they’re growing quickly. They should bloom soon. I’ll update the pics when they do. If you follow the directions they definitely are worth buying.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Thought it would add a touch of color the patio furniture. Did not germinate until 3 weeks from the precut seeds indoors, after planting in a clay based soil and placing outdoor, the seed did grow and started to have leaves floating on the water. Then all plants have died. Possibly due to the heat now, but they should have been somewhat safe as they were in water.

Every seed germinated. Was beyond excited since this has been my first try with aquatics. Used a deep plastic clear food container. Soaked in warm water and kept in bright lighted area. I have white sprout roots and beautiful leaves. Ready to plant it in clay soil but not sure why noone has posted any flowers.

Many people who rated this with one or two stars are just doing it wrong. Do the research, then do it right! All ten seeds sprouted within 3 days, but one separated from the seed husk. I placed it back in, but I don't think it will make it. The other nine did just fine and are now planted and growing healthy and strong. I am happy with that. Honestly, I would have been happy with 6/10, so nine is great. They have broken through the soil surface and are just reaching the surface of the water today. I can't wait to see how they do. EDIT: It's 2 weeks later and the leaves started opening. These pics are just a few days apart. By tomorrow, there will be 5 more leaves open. Overall, very happy with the purchase!

I was really looking forward to growing these seeds, but the results were disappointing. Despite changing the water every other day as recommended, after about a month the water developed a strong, foul odor, like rotten water.Out of the 10 seeds I received, only 5 sprouted — the others rotted and never developed. I expected a higher germination rate and a more pleasant growing process. Overall, not worth it for me.
