What size is better for a corgi?

It depends. If its body is relatively wide, I think the medium size will be more suitable.

Is this dog lift harness sturdy enough to support hip?

I used it to assist my dog jump on the suv, my dog's 60 lbs and I bought a medium. Worked good for it. Hopefully will work for you. The sling strap is adjustable. Nice dog lifter!!

I have a Border Collie, it weighs 40lb, should I get him a medium or large size dog lift?

I’m not really sure. I wanted something to help my dog up that they could wear. This is just for a walk. If there were a way I’d mail you this one I’m not using. Sorry. Good luck.

Will it bunch up in one spot under dog's belly?

No, the pad is wider in the middle, more supportive.
