FunkoLegacy Game of Thrones Tyrion Lannister Battle Armor with Scar SDCC 2014 Exclusive

The SECRET of Tyrion's helmet! (UPDATED: greater figure details) (Additional UPDATES added)
This is the second Funko Legacy GoT figure I have added to my collection and am reviewing on Amazon (the first being Arya and in that review I describe how I broke her sword, Needle, attempting to 'stupidly' get it into her right hand and how I recommend to get it into her LEFT hand without breaking it!).My review for this SDCC exclusive version Tyrion Lannister figure was VERY NEAR to being much different from what it has become! When I received it and removed it from the packaging, the first thing I did was put the helmet on Tyrion's head... OK, cool, but I don't want to display the figure with Tyrion's face covered, so I removed the helmet and one of the two eye-cover pieces broke off! MAJOR BUMMER! I also found the other eye-cover piece was barely still attached. Why would they have attached these so weakly I wondered? What now? I figured I could glue the eye-cover piece back on the helmet (are me, glue and Funko figures becoming inseparable?). Since I didn't want the helmet covering Tyrion's head anyway, I determined that I could get his left hand to hold the helmet. I got the axe into his right hand without issue by spreading his fingers open with my fingernail and then pushing the shaft of the axe into his hand (it is less fragile than Aray's Needle). The helmet issue I decided to set aside for the night...So, the next day, the thought occurred to me that since one side had already broken off and the other was loose, plus the fact that I didn't want to obscure Tyrion's face, maybe I should just break the other side off as well and see what the helmet looked like on him then. As I started to do so, I discovered, to my amazement, that the eye-cover actually pivoted open! I retrieved my 'broken' piece, reinserted it into the pivots and it is as good as new! SO there is the SECRET of Tyrion's helmet. The Helmet eye-covers pivot open! AWESOME! Whether this is actually a SECRET, I don't know, but I did not know it obviously and it isn't mentioned in the description. The STRANGE thing is that as I am writing this review, there is a picture of this figure that SHOWS the helmet with the eye-covers open, but that is NOT the same picture that you see in the description page for this figure! I have added a photo which shows that image (larger) showing the eye-covers open! (NOTE: THIS PHOTO HAS CURRENTLY DISAPPEARED BECAUSE I EDITED THIS REVIEW AND I SEE NO WAY TO GET IT BACK. I HAVE CONTACTED AMAZON AND HOPE THEY WILL ASSIST ME IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE WITH THEIR REVIEW SYSTEM!)The only other thing I would add regarding this figure is that (at least mine) will not stand on it's own no matter how I try to pose it (I also just received the Tyrion Lannister Walgreen's exclusive figure, which will JUST BARELY stand on it's own, by way of contrast). A star could be deducted for this fact, but I personally always put a bit of 'Quake-Hold!' putty (awesome stuff, MANY uses!) on the bottom of all of my figures feet anyway, so this isn't an issue for me personally. With Funko GoT figures, YOU LEARN from MY MISTAKES!UPDATE: It has occurred to me that my review of this figure obsessed so much about the helmet, that I failed to actually really review the figure itself much and should do so. I will mainly do this by offer my comparison of the three available Tyrion figures... the standard figure, this SDCC 2014 Exclusive version and the Walgreen's Exclusive version. The standard version of the figure and the SDCC 2014 Exclusive version are exactly the same except for the following... the SDCC 2014 Exclusive includes the helmet and Tyrion has a scar on his face (not very visible on my figure, though this may vary... I can't see it at ALL on the figure pictured on the main description page). Also, Tyrion's beard/stubble is noticeably darker on my standard figure than on my SDCC 2014 Exclusive figure. Since people have noted variations in paint quality on figures, I do not know if the the scar and beard/stubble may look different on other SDCC 2014 Exclusive figures or if this is standard. In the description of the standard version of the figure, at least on Amazon, Tyrion's necklace is listed as an "accessory"... I would not say this is true, as the necklace is completely attached to the figure on both of these versions, so it is NOT an "accessory", which implies it can be removed.Besides having a completely different body, the Walgreen's Exclusive Tyrion also has a different head sculpt. He has darker hair and his facial shape has been modified. Personally, I think this version (or at least the one I HAVE) resembles Peter Dinklage less than the other versions. The "Hand of the King" body is nice though... I've given a bit of thought to seeing if I can somehow switch the heads without breaking them.If you are only going to get ONE Tyrion figure, I would probably recommend the standard version, which as I write this sells for approximately half the price of the SDCC 2014 Exclusive figure and what you are gaining isn't worth the price. OF COURSE... that is NOT taking into account the collectability factor, which is likely to be greater with the SDCC 2014 Exclusive (and, I think to a slightly lesser degree, with the Walgreen's Exclusive, which is currently selling for about midway between the other two figures). Of course, if you are a worshiper of the "god of t*ts and wine", you will have to have them all anyway! And remember, a Lannister always pays his debts!(UPDATE 3/24/15: See over to the right of my review how it shows a little image of the photo I uploaded under the heading "CUSTOMER IMAGES"? If you click on that, you will be told, "No customer submitted images found." You can blame Amazon for this, they apparently refuse to fix this issue despite complaints from MANY reviewers. I LOVE Amazon, but they aren't ALWAYS perfect I guess...)(UPDATE 3/24/15 #2: I found this figure for sale today at a major chain store (and bought two, cheap)... that kind of makes the "SDCC Exclusive" tag a bit questionable, to say the least... you heard it hear FIRST!)

Nice action figure.
The product is fine but as a collector the packaging matters. The box was very scuffed up and in rough shape.

Box scuffed but item as described
The item came as described however the packaging was loose and therefore the box holding the figure had been bashed about leaving edges of it scuffed along with the front of the box heavily scratched. Other than that, it is good!
