Great Mattress and Exceptional Customer Service
I purchased the SoundAsleep Dream Series Raised Queen Air Mattress for an overnight guest I was expecting, but plans changed and it went unused. Three months later, I had another guest staying over, so I finally put the mattress to use. It inflated easily and seemed ready for a great night’s sleep. Unfortunately, as the night went on, the mattress slowly deflated. I checked Amazon to see if I could return it, but the return window had passed. The mattress had a tag with a contact number and website for questions or concerns, so I reached out to SoundAsleep. They responded within an hour and immediately offered to send a replacement—no questions asked. This level of customer service is rare these days, and I was genuinely impressed. Four days later, a brand‑new mattress arrived at my door. I wanted to make sure the replacement didn’t have the same issue, so I slept on it for a couple of nights. The new one works perfectly! I love that it inflates with ease and, best of all, it self‑deflates, so it actually fits back into the storage bag. It’s also very comfortable. Based on the excellent customer service, ease of use, and comfort, I would recommend this mattress without hesitation.

Solid product. Excellent customer service
****Update - April 2015 **** This mattress is still holding up very well. I no longer use it as frequently as when I first received the mattress but when guests come to stay over I take it out of the storage bag and blow it up without a problem. I am still quite pleased with the purchase. **** I got my Soundasleep air mattress last week. Given my living situation in the past year I have been using air beds quite a bit and have had (unfortunately) more than a few models. So far I have been pretty impressed with this one. The first night I slept on it was great. The mattress blew up very quickly (you just flip the switch and it automatically starts inflating – no valves to open or close). The bed is the right height for me and has a nice soft top to it. I put some sheets on it and slept like a dream. I did notice that the mattress seemed to lose a small amount of air over the course of the second night. I thought there might be a leak in the product and reached out to customer support via their website. Having owned my fair share of air mattresses over the years my experience with these companies is that they do not want to be bothered after a sale – basically you are on your own after purchase. I got a support rep on my first call after only a couple minutes, and she seemed eager to help me. The rep said that the mattresses are made from PVC, a plastic material that naturally stretches, and that stretching was normal during the first couple of uses (evidently SoundAsleep does something during production to minimize this stretching). The rep suggested that this natural stretching was likely the cause and that I should deflate the mattress fully, reinflate one more time and then try it for one more night. She seemed very certain that would solve the issue and the mattress would remain firm once it was fully stretched out. She even offered to follow up with me in a few days to make sure everything was working normally. The prompt and helpful support was refreshing and a nice change from the normal customer support these days. I followed her advice and the mattress did stay very firm the following evening. I followed up with an email letting her know it worked as suggested and within 15 minutes the same rep responded that she was happy to help out. As a Prime member, and frequent Amazon user, I am a huge fan of outstanding customer service. The fact that the rep was so thorough really made me feel good about the purchase. I’ll definitely update this review in the future but I am sold on this product today and would recommend it to friends and family.

Good night sleep
I was going to be traveling back and forth out of town to help with my mom. I would her condo and needed a place to sleep. I tried this air mattress not expecting much based on past experiences but mostly bought it because was well rated and self-inflated. Been using it on/off for a little over a year. Usually long weekends, sometimes a full week and more recently for two months. Damn good sleep! Rarely needed to add air over that time. Based on previous experience, I first laid an extra comforter over the top. Then covered that with a 'fluffier than usual' matres cover (bought specifically for its fluffiness). Then standard bedding. Bought a queen size for long term flexibility and hoped this was better than our 20-year-old air mattress. Mostly just me sleeping but there is more bounce when the better half moves (or I do) but that's true of all air mattresses I assume. Inflates fast, like the deflator as well. Like previous mattresses, getting it folded as small as the manufacturer can is all but impossible. The carry bag is nice but would like something that is 10% taller to help with poor consumer folding. Follow up: During my most recent trip, the mattress developed a slow leak one night (about 4-hours and you're really sinking into the mattress). Not sure what happened, but it was time to hunt for the leak. I tried the manufacturer's recommended approach (listen and moving the back of the hand over the mattress) and also did the soapy water trick. No luck finding the sneaky leak. I called the manufacture to ask if they had other recommendations, or tricks, to find the leak. They did not, BUT they were able to find my order. The purchase date was a couple of weeks past their 1-year warranty, but they ended up sending me a new mattress. Very surprised and very much appreciated. There are good companies out there that go over and above - well done!

Very Firm Mattress
The mattress was a breeze to set up. You plug it into a power source, flip the switch and presto, it inflates. It’s about as loud as an industrial vacuum cleaner, but hey, I didn’t have to wait long for it to finish inflating! The comfort was great, for an air mattress. It was actually a little more firm than I wanted, so I let some air out. That was a mistake, as all that accomplished was to make it unstable and cause me to inflate it again. So if you are into firm mattresses this is for you. It was still better than the ground, and by night two I knew what to expect and put a mattress pad on it. It was true to size. The stability was definitely there. It stayed inflated for 5 days and the flatness remained constant. It’s very portable when deflated, but was a bit cumbersome to move with one person once inflated. I gave 4 stars because I’m not a firm mattress guy, but if you like a firm mattress look no further. Otherwise it was great.

Great customer support!
Our mattress developed a slow leak. I contacted SoundAsleep by email. I explained to them how happy we've been with the mattress but it is not staying inflated overnight. They immediately answered my email explaining that a replacement was on the way. We received our replacement just a few days after the email was sent. As far as the product goes, it is well made and very comfortable. The pump is fast inflating and deflating. Every company, in my opinion, could take a lesson in customer service from this company. Thanks SoundAsleep!

The trick to getting it back in the bag...
Update, as of 09 January, 2026 I've noticed a lot of comments that the mattress is difficult to get back into that bag. That too has always been my experience. Then I did a little experiment this morning that seems to work. 1. Lay the mattress on a flat floor and inflate it all the way (no need to make it rock-hard). 2. Turn the pump switch to "deflate" and observe as the air leaves the mattress. 3. When it is about 1/2 deflated (with the motor still running) begin folding in the sides. Fold the first side about 2/3 of the way across the remaining side. Try to "tuck in" the side areas as you fold. Neatness counts. 4. As soon as you are able (again, with the motor still running), fold the remaining 1/3 of the mattress back onto the side you worked with in step 3. Try to make the folds "as neat as possible". 5. When step four is "pretty much complete" grab the non-motor end and fold the mattress in half, end to end. 6. Continue to try to "tuck everything in" until the mattress if fully deflated. Let the motor run another minute or so, just to make sure all the air is out, as you continue to "tuck everything neatly). 7. While it will be a bit of a squeeze, the mattress should now fit into the bag. Good luck! =============== I bought this mattress about 7 months ago to use as a guest bed. It has served that purpose very well, being easy to setup and take down. When inflated, it really feels like a "real bed". In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it's actually more comfortable than standard mattress sest. The air inside adjusts to the body perfectly and never sags (like a conventional mattress can do.) The person sleeping can adjust the firmness to persona taste in just seconds. The built-in pump fills the bed FAST! From empty to full, took less than 5 minutes. My guests tend to use it for 3 or 4 nights at a time. During their "stays", I've never had to top-up the air. (The only exception was when it was first new and took a little while for the material to stretch a bit. Once that was done, however, it seems to hold air really well.) After using it intermittently for those 7 months, my recent Thanksgiving guests reported it was leaking air. To make a long story short, I contacted the "SoundAsleep" support team. First sending them an email explaining the issue, then calling them by phone about 5 minutes later at the suggestion of their immediate automated email reply. In this day and age, I always expect to be lost in some phone system hell, then be forced to do battle with customer service departments. Such was not the case this time, however. I was amazed that my call went straight through to a very polite customer service agent. Not only was there virtually no wait time, but also when I started to explain that I had just sent them an email, the agent asked, "Oh... Is this "<my name>"? Not only had she already pulled up my email, but she had read it and was ready for the conversation and called me by name. To make a long story short, she immediately took care of me, and after a very short verification of my purchase from Amazon, she kindly said, "we will send you out a replacement tomorrow by priority shipping". No muss, no fuss! Amazing! In today's world, it's so rare that a product performs so well... then (if necessary) that the company so completely and quickly stands behind its product, if an issue happens to arise. My only regret is that I can't give this company and their products MORE than 5 Stars! One of the reasons I chose this mattress initially was that it (and the company) got top ratings in reviews that I read before ordering. Those high reviews were not exaggerated. In retrospect, going with this product was a wise decision on my part! I highly recommend this product and the company standing behind it.

Holds air. Holds up for years. Great customer support.
Excellent mattress and even better customer support. We had our queen sized for years, which was a first for us given that every previous air mattress we’ve ever owned quickly succumbed to leaks. This one was air tight and comfortable. Inflating and deflating works well too. When we did have a problem with the pump, customer support was easy to connect with and they offered a replacement. I was both shocked and delighted. Highly recommend

Leaked after only 5 weeks, but Customer Service MADE IT RIGHT!!
We received this Queen-sized air mattress on Oct 1, 2016. We had two Insta-beds before that. They each lasted a year before showing the occasional tiny hole near one of the upper coil seams (which was easily repairable, if I kept the patch small and waited 8-12 hrs for the patch to cure). On the Queen Insta-beds, they both lasted us 1 1/2 yrs before they finally failed completely. This SoundAsleep Dream Queen mattress lasted us 5 weeks before it developed a leak somewhere. I gave it two weeks waiting to see if I could find a hole on the upper surface. Eventually, the leak meant I had to partially refill it 3-4 times every night. Ugh. But I'd fixed many such leaks so figured I could fix this one if I could find it. No such luck. After two weeks and numerous careful examinations, I could not find the leak, incl inflating it in the dining room and examining all sides and the bottom. Nothing. No leak to be seen, yet it was losing air quickly (it needed a top-up every two hours or I couldn't get out of bed due to the soft-taco shape!) I figured I was past the return period and on my own. But reading of others here who had had an excellent customer service experience, I decided to email them via Amazon and report the problem. This was THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING.They responded personally by email within 4 hours (shock) and gave me a number to call (347-815-5995, in case anyone else needs it). I phoned the number not expecting them to be open the day before a major holiday or expecting to hear a voice from India or the Phillipines ... boy, was I wrong. A human in the US answered me promptly, heard my story, checked my purchase and issued me a replacement mattress. Wow. Now THAT is incredible customer service. I will add that I was understandably chided for using this mattress daily (fair enough) and told that they don't warranty such daily use. But given how quickly it failed, they would replace it this time. Due to back issues, I need a very firm bed. I've been using a queen air bed for over 3 years now. With a 2-inch memory foam topper, they are the most comfortable I've ever used. And this SoundAsleep mattress is the most flat and firm I've used. I love it ... sans the early (possible pump) leak. So I expect these about-$100 queen air beds to develop a leak after a year or so (with repairs making it last about 1 1/2 yrs before needing a replacement.) But the Insta-beds tended to stretch and with filling would eventually be higher in the middle than the edges. This SoundAsleep air mattress after nearly 2 mo, has held its shape better than the Insta-bed. But the early leak is disappointing. ... Yet the customer service and response is fantastic. Out of 5 stars, I'd give them 7 stars! Very impressive. For others also using an air bed daily, I'll add that I've made a high-sided bed frame (like a box) to fit the queen-sized bed in so this helps to prevent the sides of the air bed from bulging out and lessens stress on the bed.) So here is how I rate this mattress out of 5 stars: * Holds shape: 5 stars * Stays flat on top (no bulging): 5 stars * Stays inflated: 1 star (before the leak, it was a 5 star after the initial stretching) * Pump quality & seal: maybe 3 stars (I wish it had an auto-off and pressure setting like the Insta-bed) (If the pump was the cause of the leak, then it gets only 1 star, though occasional factory defects happen.) * Durable PVC rubber thickness & quality: 4 or 5 stars * Customer Service timely response: 5 stars * Customer satisfaction from the service call: 7 stars! They were MORE than fair and honest with me. And they stand behind their product. I deeply appreciate that. I realize that daily use is hard on the PVC rubber and eventually this year, we may try to go back to a regular mattress, though they are usually not firm enough unless we spend a lot of $$$'s. In the meantime, having a comfortable queen-sized air mattress for $100 every 1 1/2 years is doable for us. Hopefully, this mattresss leak was just a one-off issue. We shall see. I'll update my review on the replacement mattress a few months after it arrives. But whatever I find, their customer service has already really impressed me. Thank you, SoundAsleep Customer Service! You guys ROCK!!!

Electric pump not working after 3 months
Within about three months the inflator/deflator pump was not working. Surprising and disappointing given the product had such high reviews. Not sure is worth the hassle of try8ing to get a replacement.

Motor burns out and smokes
As soon as I turned the pump on it smoke started to come out. I turned it off, manually deinflated and more smoke was coming out inside the air mattress. I took it outside and poured water on the pump and the smoke stopped.
