Loved it!
This item was bought at one day's notice as an unexpected present for loved one who was returning from hospital following a major operation. The Royal Mail guaranteed next day delivery was worth every penny as the package arrived right on cue at lunch time, less than a day from placing the order and much to the lady's delight! I am glad to report that this excellent, smut free, film has stood the test of time which was helped greatly by superb re digitising that ensured brilliant sound and colour vision quality. The acting and plot were very much along the lines of an extended episode of the 1960s TV series that was well loved and respected by many and the concept of the family travelling to the UK for a dodgy inheritance led to some genuinely funny moments. There is a clear friendship between cast members that added to the nostalgic value of the film. For those who enjoyed the Munsters TV series, I would highly recommend this as a worthwhile purchase.

Extra special.
I love The Munsters, I was always saddened by the fact that they only ever had 2 series, it amazes me how things that are good get canned way too soon whilst stupid stuff is allowed to dominate the airwaves for years. I'd heard of the movies, but for years they were only available in the States, but finally a few have made it to region 2, and this is brilliant, all the original actors are back for a great extra special story, they're all at the top of their game and the plot had me giggling all the way through, and seeing them in colour was a surreal experience, but the makeup, special effects, sets and writing blew me away, I can't recommend this enough!

Fun, American and family friendly
When Herman Munster (Fred Gwynne) inherits Munster Hall in England, he is delighted! He even wrecks the family home, as he jumps up and down with glee! He and the family set off for England on a steamship, intending to make the most of his new-found fortune!Grandpa (Al Lewis) manages to take the wrong potion and ends up as a wolf! However, Lily (Yvonne de Carlo) smuggles him through Customs, by wearing him as a fur!!All is not quite as it should be, though, at Munster Hall, where the bounder, Freddie Munster (Terry Thomas) is absolutely beside himself with rage because it is not he who has inherited the title! Various plots are hatched in order to "finish off" the American side of the family. The first attempt to blow them up, while still on the ship, is foiled by hapless good luck! When they arrive at Munster Hall, they are welcomed by a whole barrage of creepy goings on, bumps in the night, mysterious panels, ghostly noises and the skeletons in the closet! However, since these are The Munsters, this is paradise and they feel very welcome!Lurking behind the dastardly plots to deprive Herman of his inheritance, lies the mysterious figure of "The Griffin" and the secret of Munster Hall! The finale is the annual motor car race, but Herman's chances are cut due to the dastardly, unsporting behaviour of the English side of the family. Naturally, though, with a little magic and wizardry, as well as some good old Munster luck, Herman triumphs and manages to unmask "The Griffin", solve the secret of Munster Hall and then decides to go back to America!I'm not quite sure the film (Colour) is as good as the series (Black and White), probably because one doesn't actually expect to see Herman's head is actually green and the makeup doesn't quite make it in colour, as well as it did in B&W.I'm afraid I don't think much of Terry Thomas's part; he has to overact (which doesn't suit him) and play a spoilt brat, rather than a typical "bounder".It is a fun film. Completely family friendly. A bit daft (but that's to be expected) and worth a chuckle. I still don't think it's quite as good as the series!

Good fun.
This brings back happy memories of the munster tv series which was in black and white. The colour film is good quality and the characters funny and lovely in colour. It also has the added bonus of Terry Thomas, who is funny in any film.

Still decent for its age
Considering this film is over 50 years old, it's still better comedy than most of the rubbish released this millennium.
