It works
I used it for updating an old laptop with out-of-date Bluetooth and WiFi for which there were no Windows 10 drivers. I've been using a wired of wireless mouse, so am used to travelling with a nano USB dongle. Using this with a Bluetooth mouse got me back to only one dongle. The WiFi isn't ac, so not the fastest, but as a way of bringing an 8 year old laptop up to date it's fine.Oddly, even though the WiFi worked fine, I had to load both the WiFi and Bluetooth drivers (in that order) from the mini-CD before the Bluetooth worked.

Doesn't work on Raspberry Pi out of the box
This works very well once up and running but WiFi doesn't work out of the box with Raspberry Pi (Bluetooth does). You'll need to compile a module and firmware, which isn't taxing and Edimax provides instructions online - just don't bother with the Bluetooth instructions.

good value wireless usb adaptor
Having first downloaded the latest software for this product on a friend's PC (as recommended by other users) the installation was straight forward. The computer I installed it on runs Windows XP so I was slightly concerned it wouldn't work but apart from the odd problem with XP allocating unworkeable Dynamic I/p addresses from time to time (an XP Fault) it has been fine. It gets a strong wireless signal but Note I had to use the supplied flexible arm to get a strong signal, as my wireless router is located more than a couple of rooms distant.

Not great range, but suitable for large single rooms or small flats
I was hoping to use this on my desktop pc 2 floors above the router I'd connect it too, but after seeing maximum throughput of around 1-10mbps (0-1MB) I decided to go with an adapter with a screw-on antennae which was able to get ahold of around 80% of my 40mbps internet, some losses like that are normal over wifi. After that disappointment, I can now only use this USB adapter if I am either in the same room or within 10m through a single wall or floor.I can see that this product would be great for both low bandwidth and wide open areas if you wanted something discreet, but with the size of it there are major shortcomings.

Does not achieve above 70mb speed even under ideal conditions.
I ordered this product as the place I just moved into doesn't come wired with ethernet. We opted for a 350mb fibre connection and wanted to utilize it as much as possible, so I ordered this 300mb wifi adapter after reading its spec sheet and good reviews. However, upon testing, it has completely failed to reach anything resembling a decent speed, even under optimal conditions, compared to the built-in wifi adapter on my motherboard.I tested it in both Front and rear USB ports, with and without the 'hardwire usb cable', in both USB2 and USB3 ports, and on several different devices (PC and Laptop). In all cases, the adapter never exceeded 70mb in speed, despite reporting a good connection strength. I tested at various distances, and the connection quality dropoff was concerning with even just 1 wall in the way, compared to being right next to the router. With my review there are 2 screenshots. Both were taken on my laptop, roughly 3 meters away from the router with a direct line of sight between them, on the same internet connection. As you can see, one of the speed tests only achieved 61mb download speed and 17.30mb upload; this is the adapter. The other shows good speeds of 313mb and 34mb download and upload respectively; this is my built-in laptop wifi, tested under identical conditions.Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed by this product and couldn't in good faith recommend it to /anybody/; if the low speeds don't bother you, buy a cheaper adapter as this one won't do you any better.

Great value
Got this fitted to a new gaming computer. WiFi is great and Bluetooth works fine. Very pleased.

Don’t use the Win10 detected drivers!
Plugged in and Windows 10 (build 1909) detected it straight away and installed drivers. Didn’t work. Installed manufacturer’s (Realtek) drivers and it works like a charm.
