CCA CRA gathering dust now
First impressions of this IEM were not great. The foam tips fitted were scratched up and misshapen (they did not rebound to the right shape), the silicone tips are the black 'star line' type which I already know I don't like. The typical KZ/CCA cable has ear hooks that irritate my ears. These are very chunky IEMs, but light in weight, they don't sit in my ears very comfortably, that doesn't mean they will be uncomfortable for everyone, I have other IEMs people complain about which are fine for me.I'm not going to reduce the star rating for the KZ PR2 because I think the overall sound quality is really good for the price, and they do some things better than pairs of earphones I have that cost much more. You can really hear the benefit of having the lighter moving diaphragm of planar magnetic drivers, the resolution of delicate details and micro dynamics is almost as good as the Tin HiFi P1, however the PR2 has much better bass extension and is easier to drive. The articulation of really low sub-bass on the KZ PR2 is a good as anything I've heard in audio, in this it is better than the 7Hz Timeless. Sub-bass doesn't really shake you (obviously, it's just an IEM), but I heard details down there which I've never heard before. This KZ excells with drum'n'bass, techno, and the like.Comparing with classical music, the 7Hz Timeless (over four times more expensive) was obviously better, the PR2 has a 'samey' tonality it can't resolve the contrasting timbres of woodwind and strings very well. The £35 Blon BL-03 has a more natural way with vocals and midrange instruments, so this KZ will not be replacing all of my budget earphones, but it is a great addition to my collection.

If you don't mind EQing then extremely good value.
I received the downgraded v2 version without the tuning mesh so the treble past 8khz is unbearable and ear piercing. Good thing that this planar likes to be EQed without losing much if any technicalities. If you don't mind EQing then these present sound well detailed with a superb soundstage. They require a lot of power but can still get uncomfortably loud using a cheap cx31993 dongle for mobile use. For desktop use my amp had no problem powering these at low gain.I use them for music listening and gaming, positional audio is outstanding. Comfort is good so I can wear them for multiple hours but be aware that they are quite bulky so smaller sized ears might struggle with comfort. The included cable is of simple quality and flimsy but usable, changing to a higher quality one didn't impact the sound in perceivable ways but comfort wise it did help a lot.*I had a problem at first after under a month of use the right side IEM developed a crinkle and became unbalanced, I was sent a replacement for the defective side but had to wait 3 weeks for delivery. Main reason why I didn't give this 5 stars*

Superb sound, poor build quality
The sound from these when listening to music with large swings in frequencies was unbelievable coming from a lifetime of dynamic drivers. But after a few days (~12hrs listening) the left earphone developed some kind of connection issue, internal issue as it was present on all cables I had to hand for the 0.75mm connector. Unfortunately not just a bad cable to earphone connection and they weren't manhandled at all.I've reluctantly returned these, it was an eye opener to planar drivers, hopefully usual high KZ quality returns, possible I received low probability lemon but can only review on what I got.

My favourite iems
Great sound quality amd they are built very well indeed . I can't say enough about how good these are .... the bass ohh the bass is deep and rich sounding without overlaying onto the rest of the music . These are perfect for electronic music in particular. I've bought another set already as a spare .

Crazy value for a planar IEM
I will go straight to the point:I own a $300 IEM (Timeless AE) and this little guy right here can do 80% of what the expensive one can do. I plug them into my DAP (FIio M11S) so I have plenty of power to drive the PR2 using with the AE's cable (KZ Thunderbirds, $80). Here's how it sounds:Imaging: Excellent. I can easily pinpoint where the instruments and vocals come from.Soundstage: Decently large, the lack of bass actually contributes to this element as it makes you feel like you are in a small room with instruments playing and singer singing in front of your face rather than inside your head.Bass: They have the least impact compared to anything that I've tried, but they are present and they can get very low. You can feel that heart-pounding feeling punch in some songs and it does not bleed into the vocals. My Timeless AE has waaay better texture and punch in this field but they do not get this kind of clean bass whatsoever, so the PR2 is surprisingly doing hand-to-hand with something that is a lot more expensive in this category depending on which one you prefer.Mid: Timbre is nice, excellent details especially for the price. Nearly sounds as good as the AE.High: It is not smooth and can get a bit sharp in some songs, however, it is not overwhelmingly sharp to the point that it makes you uncomfortable like the DT990 Pro. Details of the cymbals are nice and it is present.Comfort: Get rid of the stock memory foam and replace it with something like the SpinFit W1, you will thank me later if you do it.Price: $25 (at the time of this review was made), you heard it right. My only complaint is that this thing could be an endgame if only the bass was slightly punchier and the high were a little bit smoother.Overall: 9.5/10. Highly recommend giving it a try.P/s: After 30 hours of burn in, the sound gets a little bit smoother. Loving this tiny cans so far as my daily drive.
