I bought this for my garage because my house sits at the corner of two roads. The front door faces one road and the garage faces the other. There is no street light and it is very dark at night. We always part our two cars outside the garage and it is a safety concern. This light fixed my problem. There are two major parts, the solar panel and the light. They are designed to be installed separately and it comes with a very long cable to connect them. I didn’t measure the length but it’s probably as wide as my two-car garage door. My garage is facing north so there is only a couple of hours in the morning to get direct sunlight. This flexibility lets me install the solar panel to face south (recommended in the manual) to get enough direct sunlight, while the light is on the opposite side to cover my garage driveway. During the day the panel charges the built-in battery inside the light and the light remains OFF (saves battery). When it gets dark the light turns on and it goes off in the morning. I think there is a dusk-to-dawn sensor inside the light. At night the light keeps ON at a low-lumen level, not too bright but enough to see my cars and driveway, and warn the bad guys. When it senses a movement the light changes to a high-lumen level for about 30 seconds, very bright and enough to scare the bad guys away, and then goes back to the low-lumen level. This design is smart and increases battery life. The motion sensor works very well and it covers my entire driveway, all the way to the sidewalk, and a large portion of my yard. Now I feel much safer and more confident sleeping in my bed! Another thing to mention is that both the panel and light can be adjusted in a large range of angel so it can fit in various of scenarios.

I bought (2) of these solar powered exterior lights. (Pricey) They lasted 2 years. They were not very bright at all. This item said t had a 5 year warranty. They must have removed the warranty INFORMATION BECAUSE IT'S NOT POSTED ANYMORE. NOT WORRTH THE MONEY! DONT BUY.

In my case, even with very bright sun ( I am in Brazil ) a charge is only good from 6PM to 1AM aprox.. I am not sure if my unit has a battery problem. I expected much more for a fairly expensive unit.. Update - After. a few days exposed into sunlight it started working ok the Whole night.. Issue is that I bought a second one and this one has a water leak and it stopped working just a few days after the purchase..

This has done a great job, lasts all night long, however where we placed it makes it a bit difficult for the motion sensor to pick up and go brighter, so pay attention how and where you place it. Other than that it's a great light. Very bright.

Mounted this light to a tree next to the driveway away from the house, and it's great. Motion detection is just right, it switches the light from low to high when you walk within about 10ft of the light. Light comes on at dusk at a low setting, and motion detection switches it from low to high. Stays on high for about 30 seconds, then switches back to low setting. This was really easy to set up. The light is mounted under a tree, where it is shaded part of the day, but that doesn't seem to affect the solar charging. Quality appears very good, and anticipate years of use. As with battery operated lights, the battery will eventually be the issue with this. Not sure about battery replacement, but will likely try to replace when they fail.

It all works properly, but the only thing I bought a 15 watt item and they sent me a 10 watt one.

We have four of these installed on the property and they truly cover a large area. They last most of the night here in Arizona. These were a good choice.
