Good switch with a lot of SFP+
Good trunk switch for a 10Gbit home LAN. There's a 40mm fan but I don't hear it over my NAS in normal circumstances. I haven't stress-tested the backplane with multiple links, but both branches off the trunk can handle 10gbit benchmarks It takes generic SFP+ modules (I'm using three different brands for DACs, RJ45, and OS2 fiber and they all work)

Excellent Entry-Level Managed 10G Fiber Switch
I've been using the TL2-F7120 for over a year now, and for the price, it’s been excellent. I haven’t had many issues with it since I bought it, though I haven't thoroughly tested every feature, and it does have quite a few. It’s a managed Layer 2 switch, and while it doesn’t offer advanced Layer 3 features, that’s expected at this price point. It’s still a step above your typical basic managed switch, with solid configuration options. It also isn’t vendor-locked, so it works with any SFP or SFP+ module I’ve tried. I haven’t tested it with RJ45 modules, since those tend to run hot and I generally avoid them for that reason. QoS support is there, including DSCP, which is important if you're using it with something like Dante. Dante is sensitive to latency and dropped packets, and this switch has handled it without any problems. VLAN also works. I used it to place my Dante devices on its own VLAN. The fan is usually very quiet — I rarely even notice it.

Easy web interface and full cli access
Very easy to use. GUI doesn’t gave all commands, thus the use if cli. CLI gives full access to the complete system. Great to have!

Reasonable priced SFP+ switch
TRENDnet is reputable brand with good quality products —- and this switch is no exception. So far have only used it as a “dumb” switch , just plug and play using both optical as well as Ethernet SFP+ 10Gtek Transceiver —- next one is already my “saved for later” cart.

Great product
This is a great switch, fast throughput. It is in managed but great for small network.

Good quality, noisy fan
It's pretty easy to set up and configure. Much nicer interface than my ProSAFE routers, but still fairly annoying when setting up VLANs. However, its cooling fan is very, very noisy; it's a high-pitched grating sound that I can hear through closed doors. I really wish it had a bigger - and thus quieter - fan. I've had it in operation now for a few months and haven't once had a single issue with it. Edit: I have now had this for a few days shy of three months and, this morning, it randomly died. It's not the power supply, but the whole thing is dead - completely unresponsive. No smoke smell, but also no lights, despite multiple attempts at power cycling, leaving unplugged for a long time, hitting the reset button, etc.

Fan noise is annoying and worrisome.
I should have trusted some of the other reviews mentioning fan noise. There is definitely a significant chirping noise from the fan. I can put it where I won't be able to hear but what really worries me is that a company would choose to put a low quality fan into a product like this. A high quality fan that size is not a significant cost increase. What other corners were cut in terms of components? If you can ignore the noise consider it a 4 star review.

Awesome switch
Purchased 2 of these for NetApp cluster switches and they worked perfectly. Provides functionality I would only expect from true enterprise switches.

Basic Managed 10 Gig Working Well
I have been using this switch for some time now with budget SFP+ modules for fiber and ethernet and I have had no issues with it at all. For the price I would recommend, great for a tech nerd at home who wants 10gig in their house, or perhaps as a media converter, etc. It's basic, managed, works, comes with rack mounting "ears". You just need to source your desired SFP modules.

Switch robusto

Working Good - noisy fan though
Working good so far - the fan is noisy though / louder than we would like.

Werkt allemaal uitstekend.
