Second Sony OLED and Even Better Than the First – Absolutely Stunning TV
The Sony BRAVIA XR A80L 55-inch has completely exceeded my expectations — and that’s saying something because this is my second Sony OLED. I already knew Sony made incredible televisions, but the A80L somehow manages to raise the bar even higher. The picture quality is simply breathtaking. The OLED panel delivers perfect blacks, incredible contrast, and colors that look natural and lifelike without being oversaturated. Whether I’m watching 4K movies, streaming shows, or regular HD content, everything looks sharp and detailed. The XR processor really shines when it comes to upscaling — even older content looks clean and refined. Motion handling is smooth and clear, which makes a huge difference during sports and action scenes. There’s no blur, no strange artifacts — just fluid, realistic movement. And when it comes to movies, especially in darker scenes, the depth and shadow detail are phenomenal. You notice subtle things you may have missed before. Sound quality is another highlight. The built-in Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology is surprisingly immersive. Dialogue sounds like it’s coming directly from the screen, and the overall audio is rich and balanced. While a soundbar always adds extra punch, this TV sounds better on its own than most I’ve owned. Setup was straightforward, and the Google TV interface is fast and easy to navigate. Everything feels premium — from the slim, elegant design to the solid stand and build quality. It looks beautiful whether mounted or sitting on a media console. As someone who already owned a Sony OLED, I can honestly say this model feels like a refinement in all the right ways: brighter highlights, smoother performance, and even more polished picture processing. Sony continues to prove why they are leaders in OLED technology. If you’re considering an OLED and want cinematic picture quality, excellent motion, and top-tier processing, the A80L is a fantastic choice. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

Beautiful, stunning picture and Feature-packed!
This tv exceeds my expectations! I keep finding more and more things to love about it. NGL, my main reason for choosing Sony was because I love my PS5 and spend significant time playing. The second reason is I needed an upgrade and can finally afford an OLED. The picture quality is stunning, crisp, deep and colorful. The blacks are really black and the brights are vibrant. I love the Ambience feature and all the creative, beautiful packages I can download for free. It is easy to setup and walked us through how to get the most out of the TV picture and audio settings. The sound is also worth mentioning; it has impressive built in speakers but I’d strongly suggest buying a proper sound system. We already own a Sony system and the tv synced up with it without us doing anything. Last thing, it came with credits from Sony Core to use toward IMAX and 8k movies (free!!) and a free year subscription. Last last thing, the tv works easily with iPhone/appleTV even while using Google UI/features. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Best picture for mid-budget oled
Purchased 3 months ago. After weeks of non-stop research I decided to go with the A80L 65”. I’ll keep it simple, it’s the best picture quality I’ve seen out of all the tvs I’ve owned in my life. The way action scenes look, or how accurate colors are in colorful scenes, mind blowing. Trees, mountains, cars, shadows.. all look too real, astonishing. The game mode feature is one of the best, easiest & smoothest ones out there. It has many features that I believe will accommodate majority of gamers. Not really much to that. For tv speakers, it packs quite a little punch. I can tell that it’ll obviously sound better with a Sony Bravia soundbar, as the tv & soundbar sync into 1 system. But any good Dolby Atmos soundbar will/should be fine for most. The only negative thing I have to say is that, it doesn’t get very bright.. Some dark scenes are almost hard to make out, even at max brightness. Besides that no issues at all

Remote-control software update prompt drives me crazy
I mostly like this TV, but it frequently bugs me to install a software update for the remote control. it has a prompt that comes up that takes-over the interface so you have to install it or dismiss it everytime the tv turns on. I hate it! Make it stop. I dont care what software is runnig on the remote control, just leave me alone.

Just an awful product
The picture quality is very good as it should be for a tv of this price The problem is actually using it. The software it runs is absolutely horrible, I thought a high end tv would be easier to control than the cheap $100 tcl tv I used to have, but somehow its worse. Every time you turn it on theres a barrage of popups asking you to update software and set up ad personalization. Doing something simple like changing inputs requires 4-5 tries because it just keeps failing to switch and you have to keep trying again and again. The home page is full of apps i'll never use but there are no options to uninstall a lot of them so you're stuck with it all. It crashes and lags out constantly. And who knows how much data is being collected in the background. I'll just be running everything I watch on it through a usb stick or my xbox which solves some of these issues but its still very disappointing for such an expensive tv

Great OLED for the price!
At home delivery is a great free service putting the TV in the room I needed. Picture is fantastic. LG OLEDs are a little brighter but Sony image processing is still the best. Upscaling HD to 4k which is nearly all TV channels is done well. 4k image from Netflix, Disney, Amazon streaming looks very good. Not the best interface for streaming but as long as you’re using an Apple TV, PS5, Xbox, Google TV or Ruku for streaming it won’t matter. Highly recommend. The 65” one is the best deal for the money right now. Going smaller does not save you much money but going larger is way too expensive. If you can’t afford Sony OLED 90s series which is much more expensive but better picture than these 80s series are good value for the quality. OLED are better than any LED/QLED/UHD in the market.

Terrific TV
Great TV. Bright picture. Great sound. All the apps built in. Works with Alexa. I only wish the remote had a backlight!

Never knew a TV could look so gorgeous
I actually think this is my first Amazon review I've ever written. Like others have been saying, the quality of the picture on this thing is jaw dropping. As I've only had it for about five days, I'm finding myself distracted by the quality of the picture and not the content being delivered. Its really that good. I had no problems with brightness. In fact, the "vivid" mode is too bright, so I leave it on "cinema" which, by youtubers' reports, is more true-to-life representation of the source material. Google TV is perfect for our family and fits all of our needs. Only two points of disappointment: I wish there had more bass in the audio department. I had an old soundbar/woofer from my old setup, and while I could connect it to the TV via either optical or bluetooth, the audio was out of sync with the picture. Secondly, the "find my remote" function isn't working. This was a really nice perk I was looking forward to, but I simply cannot get it to work. Wife loses it in the couch all the time. I saw a software update for the remote come through, but I still can't get it to work. Hopefully, a future update will smooth this wrinkle out. BOTTOM LINE: It is worth every single red cent I paid for it, and more.

Stunning 4K OLED with Incredible Clarity and Color!
The Sony Bravia 77" A80L OLED is hands down the best TV I've ever owned! The picture quality is absolutely stunning—vivid colors, deep blacks, and exceptional contrast that makes everything look lifelike. Watching movies and shows in 4K OLED is a completely immersive experience. The motion handling is buttery smooth, even during fast action scenes, and the sound quality is surprisingly good for built-in speakers. The Google TV interface is user-friendly and packed with apps, making streaming super easy. The slim, elegant design also adds a touch of luxury to the room. If you're looking for a premium viewing experience, the A80L is worth every penny. Highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning picture and true dark blacks!
This OLED screen is incredible. The colors are so bright and vivid, and the black levels are perfect. Watching movies in 4K looks like a real movie theater. It handles dark scenes perfectly without any blur.
