Fantastic!
Love this thing! Someone else recommended this for shredding cheese. I haven't had a reason to shred cheese since I got this, but my 6yr old was eager to see it in action & wanted pieces of cheese for a snack so we set it up. The slices did get get caught in the drum & I had to gently pull them out but that wasn't a big deal. What was a big deal was how quickly & easily the cheese got sliced! I have no doubt it will shred just as well as it slices. I told my adult son that I was going to pack our handheld cheese grater away because I can't imagine ever going back to that thing. I haven't used this for anything other than cheese yet,, but I see no reason it won't handle veggies well also. As an aside, I own a mandolin slicer. A nice one, restaurant or almost restaurant quality(christmas present one year). But frankly, it scares me a little because it's too easy to get cut & you still have to move the block of cheese back & forth over it. This is more efficient & safer. I suppose I can't re-gift the mandolin without the box can I? My only concern with this is that while the suction has kept it in place while I'm using it, it releases itself if I do anything else for no real reason I can figure out, so I'm a little concerned that the suction will eventually not hold. For now it's working. Other than that, it goes together easily & the design makes sense. The pieces click into place securely. It washes up well & easily. All around I'm happy someone recommended I get one of these & I'm happy with this model. Update! I've been using this at least a couple of times a week since I got it. Found the suction works really well actually as long as I make sure both device & counter are clean & press down on it a little as I set the suction. I wish I'd known about this years ago. I'll never go back to any other method of grating.

Great improvement over hand held grater
We have gone through a couple different graters. We started with a flat hand held grater. Works ok, but is rough when needing to grate a lot like when I make pizza or baked ziti. It being flat and handle held also makes it hard to handle and keep it from making a mess. We then switched to a box type grater that had different holes on each of the 4 sides and the stuff falls out the bottom. Having large hands, I couldn't even get my fingers halfway in so the top was really hard to clean. Since it was also manual, doing large amounts was exhausting. I have an attachment for our stand mixer which works great, but we don't have the mixer out all the time so doing smaller/med batches of stuff makes this a pain. This is so much better. Everything comes apart easily for easy cleaning, it has several different shapes which is nice, and the rotation motion is super easy for cranking out large or small batches of shreds in seconds. I would have preferred and paid more for something that wasn't fully plastic but I haven't seen a metal version of this yet. It being all plastic is the only thing I can say is a downside, it feels a little fragile and has a waggle to it when you crank. So far it has held up, and I will update if anything fails.

Not Perfect, but Good Enough
First of all, the grater is very fast and effective. It is almost unbelievably faster and easier than a box grater. My major qualm is that it is incapable of grating very finely. Even the finest blade it comes with produces shreds much larger than a fine manual grate. I tried grating more slowly by applying less pressure, which almost worked, until my cheese jammed up and started melting under friction. The ease is still worth it, though. Cleaning is fairly easy. Everything disassembles easily, and the grates are directional, so you can just wipe in the same direction without shredding the sponge. In general, the build quality is poor. It feels like cheap plastic because it is. The suction cup stopped sticking to my granite countertop reliably after one use. But you get what you pay for, and when it falls apart, it won't be expensive to replace.

I shredded CHICKEN with this bad boy!
Tiktok influenced me to want one of these things, but the price tag there (at the time) was not very nice. Came to Amazon, saw this one on sale and said "why not?" Let me just tell you-- this thing does what it says! It's made of plastic and I don't trust it in the dishwasher though. PROS: - goes through cheese, raw potatoes, carrots, squash, zucchini, chicken, apples and literally everything I've thrown at it - comes with a nice little brush to help clean out the blades! - comes apart and goes together very easily - has a large hole that the grated/shredded/sliced stuff can come out of so stuff doesn't get stuck in there - if you use the suction thing at the bottom it is NOT MOVING (it is temperamental though, make sure there is a flat, clean surface for it to stick to. I didnt notice between cleaning a carrot shredded stuck to the bottom before I placed it and it wiggled all over) CONS: - makes you want to shred everything in it - the internals are white... and stain pretty easily. I shredded 6 carrots and have a permanent orange stain even though I washed it as soon as I was done - the hole in the top could be a bit taller! My personal preference here, but when grating cheese (I feed 6, so if I do taco night it's a pound of cheese I shred) abd I cut in chunks, if I want to use the little pusher thing I have to shred half of the cut before I can use it. - there isn't a fine shred option. I'd really love this for doing stuff like parmesan for carbonara. Overall, if you want one, I'd still highly reccomend this!

PARFAIT.
