Very good for keeping a sharp edge - not for restoring rough edges
Good sized ceramic "steel". Keeps a good sharp edge but not suitable for restoring edge. Good length with detachable rubber cover which allows it to be used upright on work surface.

C'est avec cet outil que je peux reprendre le tranchant sur des lames de qualité forgées ou avec des aciers poudre ultra dur et affutés avec des pierres à eau de finition comme 3000 ou 8000. Il reprendra aussi un fil sur des couteaux de table ou de cuisine très facilement.

Nice ceramic honing rod for those with good quality knives to keep in shape.
I have a number of beautiful, razor-sharp, Japanese-made knives in my kitchen, and they cannot be honed on a regular honing steel, as the steel the knives are made of is harder than that of the honing steel. This makes a ceramic rod a necessity, and this rod does an excellent job maintaining the edge of my knives without worrying about damaging them. If you are looking at this item, you already know what it does and why you need one, so all I will add is that it does just what is expected and does it well for a very good price. You will not regret buying one.
