SteelSeries Apex M800, Gaming Keyboard, Mechanical, Per-Key RGB LED Illumination, 6 Macro Keys, Low Profile, (PC / Mac) - UK Layout

I don't take these purchases lightly, I needed a new keyboard (for high level gaming, mostly CSGO) and ive spent the past 3 months researching SS/Razer/Logitec/CM and some of the smaller lesser known brands too. I've looked at all different types of keyboards too, different sizes/key switches/quality. Reason being, €170 is a lot of money to spend on a keyboard so I wanted to make sure I had found the right one.After agonising over the decision I finally chose this one. The reaction on the keys is perfect, beyond anything my human brain can comprehend, the space bar through me off originally (and was one of the only reasons i didn't jump at getting this one in the first place) but i got over it very quick, literally after one competitive match. The hard part is the level of customisation involved in the back lighting. I got this on a Friday and spent about 6 hours that night playing around with the colour combinations and effects (beware).I will review again in 6 months and see how it stands the test of time, but for the moment I couldnt fault it at all.

Had mine for a while now, keyboard itself is OK, not quite as "clicky" as i would have liked, the issues comes when the warranty runs out.The clips on the enter key broke on mine and while they will send you spares under warranty, they wont SELL you spares out of warranty and after a bit of Googling turns out it's not just me.So be warned, keyboard is nice and well enough built but the non standard switches mean you can't replace keycaps. i have had to 3D print a little doohickey to super glue to the keycap so it will stay clipped in.

I have been using the keyboard for the last few weeks and it took some time to get used to sensitivity and the additional row of keys on the left - coming from laptop keyboard (SteelSeries also, but much smaller).The Lighting is fantastic, keyboard feels solid and it is a bit on a heavy side but that does not bother me.Customisation options are brilliant with SteelSeries software.Build quality is excellent.

One or two episodes of non-responsiveness on wake-up in the early days. Unplugging and waiting 10 seconds seemed to fix it. However, since the latest driver update it has been thoroughly reliable. It is a joy to type on and the illumination is great. The macro keys are really handy too.

My keyboard was ordered from the outlet, unfortunately the cable was slightly frayed however the keyboard itself is great, the light patters are really amusing even out of the box where keys change colour as touched (thoroughly entertaining) and much better than my old Dell keyboard.My first shot at a mechanical keyboard but it feels great and I really enjoy using it.

Great feel to the keys. Looks amazing lit up. Customisation was easy using the steel series 3 engine. 2 things that annoy me though is if you use reactive key lighting sometimes the light can bug out and stay on asif the key is being pushed down. This is just an atheistic thing though. 2nd thing is it takes a while to get used to the key layout on the left hand side. If you aren't used to the macro buttons you'll find yourself hitting the top one for esc for the first week or so.

While this keyyboard is good qualty, nice to type on and responsive for gaming it is let down by one enormous flaw.There is about 25% chance that this keyboard will not start with Windows (I've used it with all versions 7 - 10) without unplugging and plugging it back in.
