VIGAN 10M Stainless Steel Spring Wire Rope, 1MM Gauge

I purchased this wire to replace the plastic "wire" in the huge brim of my gardening hat and it turned out great! The original plastic hat "wire" used to stiffen the brim of my favorite gardening/beach hat had worn out and cracked in multiple places causing the brim to sag down to much it made the hat unwearable. I pulled the original stiffener out and fed this wire into the same channel and it works great! My hat brim stands out on it's own and I have my own personal shady spot! This wire spring wire is very sturdy, so I had to use blot cutters to snip it. You won't be able to cut it with just a traditional wire cutter.

The 3mm is very stiff and springy. Very strong stuff. Can't cut with normal pliers or snippers...I had to use bolt cutter. Very stiff, comes in coil, you can straiten with difficulty, but hard to make tight wrap without heating it red hot then twisting. I like it.

Good wire

Got this as an alternative to music spring wire, 18 gauge. It t has good spring but is difficult to form by hand, which I need to do. Small kinks result when I exert pressure on it.

Using this for jewelry making. A little stiff. Not the spring wire I was expecting that holds its coil.

Good wire for replacing a broken throttle cable

Worked great, I was able to restring the spring frame for a seat cushion in my truck and is like new.
