Was trying to get a certain brand of synthetic quill brush, but it was always selling out. So I decided to try these, and they are brilliant. They've not shed any hairs, they wash and reshape well. I have nothing to compare them with, but they have been great so far. A much better price too! Sometimes it's worth giving the 'off-brand' a try.

Fantastic brush set for any watercolourists - I bought expensive silver black velvet a few years ago and they're not a patch on these synthetic squirrel brushes! The point is extremely fine and the belly holds a lot of water/paint I have painted several animal portraits with them since I purchased them and there isn't a single sign of wear and tear on them! I would definitely purchase again and I have sent the link for them to my students!

Very good value great brushes

The bristles are soft and full/fluffy, which also absorbs a huge amount of water (and paint mixture). One dip in paint and water mixture (or just one of either), holds enough to create the leaves in the image. The shape and pointy tip does not change! It stays nice and sharp which is absolutely a must! The handle is comfortable to hold. The wire is my only issue. When I use a tissue to wipe the excess mixture or water, it snags a little but I use face cloths/flannels instead now, so that doesn't happen. I am considering buying the full set as I believe it is definitely worth buying, whether you're a beginner or pro.

I love them … I’m a beginner watercolour painter and I have struggled with watercolour brushes and paint and paper… I have now found the perfect paper the best paint for me and now seem to have found the perfect brushes I have better control better water hold better paint hold and can do loose or tight watercolour painting better Do 8 have a way to go yes but I love the brushes they are comfortable to h9ld to use and to achieve the results I try or hope for

Ich habe diese Pinsel für meinen Mann bestellt, da er sich an Japanischer Tuschemalerei ausprobieren wollte. Er ist sehr begeistert. Sie eignen sich sowohl zum malen als auch für Kalligrafie und haaren auch absolut nicht, was perfekt ist, weil man sonst schnell die Lust am malen verliert. Die Pinsel kamen in kleinen Plastikröhrchen gut verpackt an. Wenn die Pinsel richtig durchgetrocknet sind, packt er sie auch wieder in die Röhrchen damit sie weiterhin gut geschützt sind. Das Wasser/die Tinte können sie sehr gut und lange halten. Ich denke, dass auch fortgeschrittene Künstler damit viel anfangen können. Für den Preis sind sie aber auf jeden Fall für Anfänger perfekt!

I bought this quill brush for watercolour, mainly because my round brushes were running out of water too quickly when I tried wet-on-wet washes on cold pressed paper. This brush solved the problem almost immediately. It holds a lot more water and paint than a standard round brush, so I can wet the paper properly and lay down softer, more even washes without constantly going back to reload. It has been especially useful for skies, loose seascapes, and larger wet areas on postcard-sized paper. It does take a little adjustment because it carries a lot of water, so you need to learn how much to blot or unload before touching the paper. But once I got used to that, it made wet-on-wet much easier and more enjoyable. A very useful brush for beginner watercolour practice, especially if you are struggling with dry, scratchy washes or overworking because your brush does not hold enough water.

Nice for water colour painting. Good quality and I am using them regularly.
