I bought this for a 1992 Nissan pickup that spends most of its life sitting in the driveway contemplating retirement. It only gets called into service for important missions such as hauling junk to the dump, transporting furniture, or helping neighbors move things they probably should have thrown away years ago. Because it sits so much, we've had the battery die on us multiple times. A battery disconnect switch seemed like an easy and inexpensive solution. Installation itself was straightforward and only took a few minutes. The switch feels solid, and the operation is simple and intuitive. However, I learned an important lesson during installation: think about the available space before you buy. On our truck, the battery sits upright, which meant the disconnect switch was also positioned upright. This made it easy to access, but it also created an unexpected problem. After installation, the hood wouldn't close. Apparently, the engineers at Nissan never planned for me to bolt extra hardware onto a truck that predates widespread internet access. Fortunately, I was able to reposition the switch and make everything fit. Had there been any less clearance, I probably would have needed to return it. Before purchasing, I'd recommend measuring the space above and around your battery to avoid the same surprise. Since installation, the switch has worked exactly as intended. It's a simple way to prevent battery drain on vehicles that sit for extended periods, and the price is very reasonable. As an added bonus, it also functions as an anti-theft device. Granted, the truck already has a manual transmission, which is arguably an anti-theft device in its own right these days, but every extra layer helps. Overall, this is a useful and affordable product. Just make sure your battery compartment has enough room for it before ordering.

Looks quality. The item is substantially heavy compared to the competition. But just wont work on my car, even the bendable ones did not fit my car.

Insane product design! So you are probably looking for a disconnect for a battery because your car or whatever has a small current draw and drains the battery just sitting, right? Well here is a disconnect with a built in a small current draw! Thats right, this thing never ever turns off its led 9 segment display and voltage meter. It has 2 'off' detents, and neither turn off the display. Maybe it has a timer? NOPE Also, 1 sheet manual in the box doesn't really use the words you would expect but at least the manual operator thought about this. "Switch On ... and the switch displays the current battery voltage." "Switch Off ... and the switch display will be closed." If "closed" means "off and not displaying the current battery voltage" then the manual is wrong. Probably because the manual writer never used the device but imagined it in a world that actually makes sense to the buyer. I guess I'll add a tiny inline switch to disconnect the positive feed to the voltmeter... O_o

I used this to save my battery and it still went dead in storage.

I purchased this disconnect switch for my vintage camper trailer. It was easy to install. It turns and off with an audible click so it is easy for me to know when the battery connection is live or off. In the past, I have used screw-type turn on/off disconnect switches which, for me, are hard to know when the battery is off/on unless something electrical is running off the battery when the switch is engaged. It appears to be of sturdy construction and I suspect that it will last for several years with moderate use.

Good quality, better price than others

Big chunky and be aware you need to push in to turn so it has to be mounted such that the pushing force is supported. pop out panels all around and optional backer give flexible mounting options. I wish there was an option with 1/4" posts as these are huge, but this is rated for 50A so I get it.

Works great! Easy install, been using it for months and the connections are all great. Quality is good.

As I had a rather tricky situation to makes things work on my tractor, I had picked this particular product for its flexibility. This model is for a positive post hookup and seems to be fairly well built. Installation completed a few days ago and everything working.
