I rarely go back and write reviews, but this trash can absolutely deserved one. I've owned it since June 2025, and it has been outside through rain, snow, freezing temperatures, and summer heat without any issues. It still looks just as good as the day I bought it. The build quality is excellent, and it feels very sturdy. My favorite feature is the pull-out bottom tray. After sitting outside all winter with a trash bag still inside, it definitely needed a good cleaning, but I simply pulled the tray out, hosed everything down, and it cleaned up quickly and easily. It still looked like the day I bought it. Changing the trash bag is also simple thanks to the removable lid. It's one of those products that's thoughtfully designed and makes a messy job much easier. This is exactly what I was looking for in an outdoor trash can. Durable, easy to clean, and built to last. I'd definitely buy it again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality outdoor trash can.

Update: 7/24/26 - East Oak reached out and offered to send the newer version of the trash cans as they had already addressed my complaints in their newer version. - Assembly of the newer version went much more quickly, and the instructions are more clear. - Bag retention was redesigned and is much improved. - Built in labels are a huge help. We were constantly having people put trash in recycling and vice versa with the older version. - Color fading was said to be improved, but will need to gauge after a few months in the sun. Overall, I would highly recommend the updated version w/labels. We have one on our patio and one by the pool and are very happy with them. ‐----‐-----------------‐------------------------ Purchased two 76 gallon trash cans in July 2025. I like the look, but as other reviewers have noted we cannot get trash bags to stay in place in the can. We use extra large bags so there is no weight pulling on the bags and still struggle to keep them from falling in on themselves. Looking back now it seems the company revised the trash can to resolve this and to add labels which would be super helpful. We had purchased stickers as labels for trash/recycle, but nothing sticks to the can. We may try a new version after this summer. I've also noticed after 3 months of summer use, the cans do fade quite a bit. We used ours from July-October before putting away for winter. I added a pic showing the color difference with the lid up.

Love the sturdiness, design, click together pieces were nice, directions weren't awesome and I had difficulty on the last two pieces. Love the look of this and would like to purchase a few more for my rentals, BUT the bags and how the ARE NOT SECURELY HELD at the rims of the bins just makes it totally disappointing for me. I'd buy additional if there were two pieces that clicked over the rim and held and concealed the edge of the bags. As is, it's unsecure, ugly, and ruins the entire functionality of the piece. Don't buy this if you don't want to be hassling with getting the bags to stay up. You know, two solid bins that slip down in would have been great and I would have paid more. After working with OAK's outstanding and responsive customer service, these issues have been addressed with improvements! I was sent another set and am now in love with it! I really was impressed the first time but now, I'm floored. Great customer service, never had better. Part of the issue the first time was understanding the directions, and that could be on me. I eventually figured out how to get the bags secured at the rims. This is a great looking, very functional set of garbage cans. Value for cost is also 5 stars. I am a fan of good design and this is high on my list!

12.19.24 Updated review: customer service reached out to address my concerns and provided additional visual instruction aids on the best way to secure the trash bag. Feom my perspective, the company seems to care about tmcustomer satisfaction and tries to address issues and gradually improve upon the product design. Original review: This is a functional trash bin that looks nice in my backyard. However, there are some issues with use and mayne some potential improvement opportunities. The assembly was super easy. The graphics in the instruction pamphlet were clear, except page 5. The image of the base tray was pictured upside down. Part D should be flipped (the side shown should be facing inside of the trash can). I noticed that the trash can may have been improved since other reviews and new liners were added to prevent bags from tearing when pulling them out. But it did cover the part labels... which is not a deal breaker, I was still able to figure it out and piece it together. The rim and gap to hold the trash bag is terrible. I've used 3 bags in it already and none have stayed put. Perhaps a clamp, clip, or some other securing mechanism should be added (I do use 39 gallon bag, big enough to not weigh the bag down and slip off the rim). Part of the reason the bag is not staying put was because when I open the lid by the little lip to toss trash away, the perimeter lid (that holds the bag down) opens up. Almost every time I opened the lid, the whole top raised up. Perhaps something else could be added to secure the lid down better. I have noticed that I have to tilt the trash can (almost horizontal) to pull out the trash/bag when filled. Fortunately, I have not experienced any rips, punctures, or tears, but I felt the sides of the trash buckling and one of the hinges to the lid poped off 2/3 times I've removed the bag. So... I don't think it is wise to have too much heavy trash if you can't lift it straight up and out. A front door panel would be nice to open and remove the trash bag or add an inner liner can... but that would change way too much and end up with a whole different product. The biggest personal annoyance was the fact that I have to tilt the trash can, slide the trash bag out, then pull the trash bag out... the base was not really reinforced for such actions... I anticipate the base (tray base) to break or weaken without a sturdy frame, feet, and/or extra padding. Overall, the trash served its purpose and looks pretty nice. It may work great for those who use it sporadically or occasional backyard gatherings. I am in the backyard all the time performing different tasks and i use the trash can multiple times a day. These little pesky issues with the trash can amounted to some major annoyance after continued use... and repetitive actions may compromise the longevity of this trash can, e.g., lid hinge pops off, wobbly sides, base scrapping off. For me, this is an average trash can that could be improved more.

Both functional and attractive, this bin is exactly what we needed on our patio! Easy to assemble and maintain. The one issue we had was when a raccoon toppled the bin and the lid broke apart. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing customer service provided. I reached out to purchase a new lid, but was promptly provided with a new lid at no cost. Customer service stayed in communication with me throughout the process. I highly recommend both this bin and East Oak. They truly care about customer satisfaction.

I bought this because one of my Corgi’s favorite things to do is pull empty dog food cans out of my previous short recycle tub to chew on them. I wanted a covered recycle bin to keep her out of it. This fits the bill. I first bought recycle bags that were 33” tall. Those did NOT work. They fell down into the can & whenever I’d try to open just the lid, the entire top would lift up. I then bought bags that are 38” tall - work perfectly and don’t fall down. Only the lid lifts now and the top piece that holds the bag in place stays put. The bin was easy to put together and seems sturdy. I keep it in my garage just outside of the kitchen door, so I can’t vouch for durability outside. I like that it’s covered to keep flies out of it. It’s great in the garage and eliminates me having to run everything outside (especially in rain/snow/cold). Now I just change the bag every other week when it’s time to put the large recycle garbage can out at the curb.

Unbelievable customer support! The trash can is very nice, however the center divider broke and we contacted the company to ask about buying a replacement center divider. Almost immediately they responded and sent us a replacement can free of charge since there was no option to purchase a replacement center divider. They were kind, courteous, and prompt; truly everything you’d want in a company you purchase products from. I’m blown away by this company and their commitment to quality and customer service. This trash can is quality built and attractive. Thank you East Oak, you have made me a lifelong customer!

I spend over a month researching bins for my recycling and landed on this. It shipped super fast, super easy to put together and looks great on my deck. Had a look inside it after a rainfall, all cardboard is dry! Im buying a couple more.

Perfect for my deck. I've been looking for something like this to put my cans in for recycling! My complaint is the lettered pieces are so blended into the inside it was hard to find. Insertion of the bottom piece, the "click" part broke but held together with the 3 remaining corners. The insert design could be better with a snap on square of sorts to secure the bags. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, be aware when snapping them together.
