Perfect size and weight for a reading/writing pad
I am impressed. With my rapidly ageing eyes I need bigger screens and clearer images. I struggle to read my Oasis for long periods of time as my eyes get tired very quickly. I decided to bite the bullet as I had some birthday vouchers and get the scribe. I didn't see much difference between the newer 2024 version and the OG, so opted for a refurbished OG model, saving well over £100 in the process. I've never bought Amazon refurbished, but the 30 day return window and the 1 year warranty made the choice easy. If I wasn't happy I could just return it. But the devise is perfect. If it wasn't for the generic packaging, you wouldn't know the difference. It's brand new. No scratches, marks, nothing. I'm very impressed. It came with the premium pen, nibs and charging cable too. I've already downloaded a planner, diary, journal to the Scribe which works very well. Writing on the Scribe is a dream compared to the iPad which is too slippery and slick - even with paper like products you have to annoyingly attach. So this is much better for writing on. I don't write in books - I never have so I'm unlikely to start now, but having the unlimited notebooks is an absolute bonus. I often have to write something down to remember for reports and then end up losing the piece of paper or back of envelope. Not anymore. The screen is incredibly clear in all surroundings. Why did I wait so long to invest in a Scribe? It does enough for what I need it to. Amazon have got the size and weight just right i think.

Can't Go Wrong With Kindle
This is a fairly intuitive device to use, and it ticks all the boxes I was looking for. The writing and notetaking side of things work well, and as for reading - well, it's a Kindle - the best. I won't pretend it's perfect, nothing is, and it has its little irritations, it's niggles. But in the round, it's a really good device. Full marks to Amazon also, for getting behind their product. They will continue to give guaranteed essential security upgrades for the Kindle Scribe 2022, for at least four years after the item is last available for purchase. And that offer extends to their official refurbished models, at the time of writing. Compare that with Android based E-readers/writers. I owned one, and it seems you blink, and it's no longer supported! I would like it to be a little lighter. But then again, I wouldn't want to forego the Kindle Scribe's impressive battery performance. The weight, at least for me, is more of a minor nuisance than a serious downside. I read one review (I can't recall if it was on Amazon), that said it was 'exhausting' to carry around. Of course, we're all different, and it would be wrong to judge anyone, but it's about the same weight as many a textbook. Getting my Kindle Scribe up and running, was a breeze - a model of streamlined efficiency. This is how all these things should work. I won't list the features and technical aspects, because others have done it far better than I could. But, from a user perspective, this is, as they say, a solid piece of kit.

The best!
I absolutely love the kindle scribe. I find writing on it as a left hander, so easy. No smudges!! The transcribe feature is good enough, but I just love to mark up books and it links to the kindle app which is great. Love having a bigger kindle, was worried I wouldn't like it but I'm a very regular traveller and I read for an hour or so a day at least, it's perfect. No more constant page turning. Battery lasts weeks and weeks and USB C Charge is the business. Finally, I love the warmth setting on the light, so much nicer than my Paperwhite really lovely to read in the evening. Journalling, emailing, etc all great and refurbished might as well have been brand new. Love it

Great digital notepad
Really happy with this, I mainly use it as a digital notepad, but being able to also use it as and e-reader is very handy. Battery life is great, overall I'm really impressed.

No regrets
I wanted a Kindle for university and I am so glad that I got this one. I had to send the first one back because it wasn't as up-to-date as promised but I am very happy with the replacement. It is sometimes a bit laggy or slow, and sometimes I have to give it ten minutes and switch off and on again but it is a good size and comfortable to use. The notebook and annotation features are extremely useful, and it is easy to send annotations and notebooks to my email.

Great!
I need to read lots of reports and PDF documents for my work, and I struggle to read them on my laptop. I also like to annotate by hand. This has solved all my issues, I have really enjoyed using it. The function to turn writing into text is quite good considering I sometimes can't read myself! The delivery was fast and the Scribe very well packaged, I've been using it for a few months now and I am very happy with it.

Brilliant eInk notebook - a bit big for just reading
I bought this to use as a digital notebook to take to the office with me. I already owned a kindle paperwhite so have quite a few kindle books already bought. It feels great to write on, is responsive enough to not be annoying and the battery life is good, as you would expect from an eInk device. Using it to read on, it's considerably bigger and heavier than the kindle paperwhite, and so not as comfortable to just get out on the train, or for reading in bed. The added size does obviously mean that you get a bigger screen though. Overall I'm very happy to have bought this, and as a certified refurbished item, I would not have been able to tell it from new.

It’s exceptional for reading. The light softens at night. It’s the closest experience to reading from a book. The look and size of the page is great. Also, if you’re going to splurge on the Scribe, I’d strongly recommend a very nice cover. I started with a cheap cover and decided to splurge for the leather cover that can be sat up easily and spins in any direction. This makes it so easy to read in bed at night. The Scribe looks like a book page but with the cover it can be sat up to read and even turned a bit to balance on the bed. The writing is fine. I’m not as into it but it helps. It’s also heavy and the leather cover adds weight but I still take it everywhere. It has a huge library inside it. So the weight doesn’t matter to me I’ve had many kindles but could never read on them easily. The pages were small enough for me to get distracted. They just weren’t as easy as a book with the full page. This Kindle is so worth it. I love mine. I’m updating. I’ve had it for awhile now. The writing feature is GREAT. I easily open notebook in seconds to write down appointments and information. The pen turns into a marker and I’m a nervous doodler. It’s just the best for doing this if you have the habit of drawing everyone waiting in a room or a plant in the corner. And no internet connection to distract from your books.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kindle Scribe. Das Gerät war wie neu und auch so eingepackt. Es ist toll zu bedienen und zu diesem Preis wirklich unschlagbar.

Seriously a great purchase if you use lots of legal pads or sticky notes like me. This has gotten me more organized in so many ways. You can create separate files and create notes within each file. It's so easy to use and just pop it in your purse or bookbag. This would be great for students as well.

At first I was hesitant to purchase a refurbished product. I've had this product for a few days. It is missing one of the rubber "feet" on one corner. There is also a slight gap on the bottom and right side between the screen and the device itself. Not sure if the gap is supposed to be there or not. Also when using the pen and reading you can see what was previously just erased. At first I was upset thinking this light grey erased writing would be there forever. I was wrong and it does go away. It's actually a pretty cool feature I now like. They really gave extra thought into making this "Paper-like." One thing I will say is otherwise their is not a single scratch on this tablet anywhere, not on the screen or base. One thing I did notice however is that my older audiobooks wouldn't download to the scribe just kept saying "queued" and never downloaded. But a newer one I just purchased the other day downloaded no problem. It seems as though Amazon and Audible didn't anticipate the creation of the Scribe. Many Ebooks don't have "on-page writing" theirs also no specific search filter from the Amazon Kindle ebook store to search for specific Ebook genre with the "on page writing." As im not a fan of sticky notes. The Scribe is expensive I should be able to freely write on any ebook I purchase but that's not the case. I hope this will be a thing moving forward. Also, one thing I wish is that this e-reader doesn't allow Cloud-Library. Which is what my public library uses to rent ebooks & Audiobooks. I would have loved to be able to use this on the Scribe but it's not supported. I do like that I can sent Docs and PDF's to the kindle seemlessly from my phone by having the kindle app installed clicking "Share to kindle" on the document and with whisper sync it sends no problem. I do wish I could change the photo that appears on the Scribe tho. Like put a photo as a cover for my notebook and other files but cannot do that either. I also love the reading screen brightness feature and then to change the hue the "dark mode" is also amazing. Amazon did a really good job with this. I can read at night perfectly. No eye strain and the bigger screen is nice. I also like highlighting even in grey-scale they did a good job with that feature plus the difference between writing with the "Pen button, Pencil, highlighter and fountain pen." Those are nice. I do wish their was an option for shapes tho. I downloaded some crosswords and word searches that would benefit from custom ovals if I could draw around a word and it would smooth the edges. Ya know? I hope more puzzle games will be able on scribe to download in the future. I love how the screen itself isn't completely smooth like a cellphone. The screen is slightly "matted" or textured so writing on this really is impressive! It seems for every area that this device fell short it made-up for it with other features I love. Another drawback is that for example some books on my Kindle app I don't want or need on my Scribe. There is no button to remove specific books from certain devices. Even books from my kindle library that I didn't click the "download button" they still appear. The only way around this is to use the ",filter", to view only download books. I don't like this feature because that means that if I were to purchase a kindle kids that my kids could end up seeing a bookcover or title not suitable for them. I also have not seen a feature yet that you can hand write a note and it turns it into text in the document. Also im still getting used to the page turning feature. It has been annoying at times I accidentally turn a page and then tal the screen and instead of going back to the previous page it will go forward and if I do the same repeatedly then sometimes I'll end up going several pages forward. Idk where on the device screen to touch exactly to get this more seamless. I've just been trying to not accidentally touch the screen. Cus if you touch the middle it turns the page. At first I really thought I was going to end up returning this device. But I really enjoy reading on it this is the first kindle I have ever owned. I'm glad I purchased the certified refurbished and also saved money from buying on Amazon prime day. Is this a pretty good device yes it is, does it need more updates on the Kindle itself and amazon.com website to coordinate all the usable features better? Yes it does. Is this product really worth almost $400 brand new? Unfortunately, I don't think so. Because of all the difficulties I just mentioned especially since this product was released in 2022. Amazon.com website under the filters option just like when you go searching for a book you can choose to only generate results from the Kindle ebook store there should be a button that says Kindle scribe. But I think that the Kindle ebook store the Kindle scribe capability most books just don't have it yet. I wish there was a website or a button you could press on amazon.com that says request this book be added to Kindle scribe (on page writing) features but there is no such button. And when you contact Amazon customer service all they say is they can create feedback but who really knows where any of that goes? Even the employees customer service has no way to check up on it once it's submitted. I look forward to many more Kindles grab updates and I hope in the future the Kindle scribe will allow some third party apps from the Play store like cloud library and I also hope in the future that the Kindle scribe will allow color. Similarly to how the Cobra Libra color has a less vibrant color in comparison to a cell phone or a fire tablet but it's still color. Especially since my kids are still at the age where they're reading books with color and the bookshelves are getting full I would love a kids version of the Kindle scribe with color just as I would the adults version of the Kindle scribe with some color. Because the reality is as soon as I bring out my Kindle my kids are all over me wanting to be a part of it. But the Kindle Kids just doesn't have the same features.
