Working in the hospital I pull on my badge 60+ times a day in 12 hours. It is still like I just bought it. My badge hasn’t fallen off at all ;)

I bought this because I live in an apartment and hated having two fish in my purse to find my keys every time I wanted to open my door. This helps a lot at attaches to the side of my purse and able to quickly grab my keys to unlock the door.

Only complaint is that they don't last very long... No wonder you get two

I have to carry a work badge and a belt panic-device at a school I work at, where I cut and grind steel in a welding lab. HATE lanyards cause I can't stand something around my neck. Had some of these given to me before, but always with a string and a cheap mechanism. This one has a steel cable and is just very obviously robust and built to last. Used the second one for my keys.

These are really really sturdy. Versatile because you can hang an ID card in the little strap and also the ring that allows you to put a handcuff key or something else there. The wire is really heavy duty and durable. I just hope the connectors don’t fall off. The fact that the carabiner attachment is allowed to move freely is also important detail.

These are great for a few keys and an ID card. Definitely worth the convenience. Hooked to my belt loop the line extends far enough to reach a locked door knob and open it easily without digging in my pocket while my hands are full. I have ordered others in the past that were more expensive, but also heavier duty. The retractable line is roughly 2ft long with a steel core and the casing is durable plastic with a metal clip. At about half the price of other brands, you get 2 of these. I figured it was worth a try. If you use something like this regularly, you already know these items are prone to wear and need to be replaced. As an industrial mechanic who works on heavy machinery, I use a retractable key ring to carry access badges and keys daily. They typically last around 2 years before the cable shows signs of fraying or the retractor fails or gets jammed.

Lower section is great. Love the steel cable. Strong pull. 1 major issue that makes me not want to rebuy. The upper carabiner hook is very, very difficult to remove from your belt loops. It just has a very weird curve to it, and it would not come loose with one hand easily. Maybe that is a plus if you are worried that it will come loose too easily, but for me, I would rather have it open easily than need to be cut off. 2nd issue is more of my fault, but it still could be an issue. The upper hook is made of metal and swings on the plastic holder below. I put the badge in my back pocket one day and when sitting on the badge because the metal can't bend past 120 degrees or so it snapped the plastic holder and broke the badge in two pieces. So don't sit on badge as it can't take it.
