I am amazed. This works better than expected. Until now I was crawling around the floor using a silicone pet combing glove, which worked better than a vacuum. This rake is even better. I don't have to get down on the floor, has wider coverage area x2, is easier to use and picks up more hair. Use this between vacuumings, or before you vacuum. Vacuum to pick up crumbs or dirt particles, pet nail tips, kitty litter, etc . If you have a family with lots of hair, long, short, hair, it gets that too. Removing from the copper combs is easy, just swoosh it backwards a bit, or even slide it sideways. I did my whole first floor in 15 minutes. Worked up a sweat, but vacuuming would have taken 40 minutes and the sweat and makes my lower back hurt almost instantly. The rake did not bother my lower back, shoulders, arms, just the sweat. I took pics, found I also have some carpet cleaning to do too.

Made my stairs look brand new! First I did a little Carpet Cleaning all the way up and then I went through with this thing and you won't believe how much hair I got uncovered. And you know how your stairs gets flattened down in the Middle where high traffic is people coming and going. That's gone. It looks brand new. This is a pretty good quality handheld device. There was really no assembly although it did come with a long stick that I'm probably never going to use. It's just an excellent value for your money I cannot believe it did such a great job at hair removal!

Let me tell you, I have a dog that sheds enough hair that by the end of a week, there would be enough hair for a whole other dog if I didn't keep up with it. I thought a had a great vacuum cleaner, but after a close inspection, I noticed that some hair had worked down and wasn't getting picked. That's when I picked up this carpet rake. I'll be honest and say that it's not my favorite tool to use and not the most fun activity, but I was amazed at how much hair I was bringing up out of the carpet even after it had been thoroughly vacuumed. I worried about the durability of the handle because you have to fix a couple of pieces together, but it's actually pretty sturdy and I haven't had any issues with flexing or separation. The head of the carpet rake has a bunch of little teeth that grab the fur/hair and bring it up out of the carpet without any visible damage to the carpet itself. It does a great job of giving me an even better clean to the areas of the house where I have carpet and where the dog visits, which is mainly upstairs in the bedrooms. No, it's not a sexy or tech-heavy product, but it definitely gets the job done. If you've got a dog or dogs that shed a lot and you've got carpet in your house, this item is a must have for a clean room and peace of mind.

Why am I just learning about this product?! I have an 11 year-old Great Pyrenees mix and I’m constantly trying to clean up all the dog hair. I have a large rug in my living room from target and this pulled up so much hair I was shocked! I will say that in certain spots it pulled the rug, but it was not at all noticeable, and I know that I was probably getting carried away and using it too hard. The only thing that was a pain and that I saw in other reviews is that the handle breaks really easily. Maybe I wouldn’t consider it being so much of a “break” but more or less that the pole won’t really stay together without the top popping off. It didn’t really matter for me too much because I preferred to bend over and hold it more at the bottom/middle anyways. I would recommend this for anybody that has pets!

I normally don’t write reviews but this carpet rake actually blew me away! I expected it to work well, but it turned out to be probably the best purchase I’ve made on Amazon. For starters, I have long textured runner rug in my bedroom that my black and white kitty loves to roll all over. It’s constantly covered in cat hair and she is relentless. So I intentionally didn’t vacuum this rug for an undisclosed amount of time, pending the purchase of this carpet rake and simply because the vacuum just doesn’t do the job. I’m normally on my hands and knees lint rolling and hand brushing this rug. Which ends up being a pointless effort since my cat is right back to rolling all over it. Within seconds and I mean SECONDS of using this rake, my carpet was insanely clean, just as clean as it was when I first purchased it. The metal “teeth” grab hair and dirt deep in the carpet fibers and pull it up without snagging your rug, it’s truly amazing. The set up was extremely easy and overall the craftsmanship of this rake seems to be really good. Although I can agree with another review that the plastic that connects the rake and the pole could break if used aggressively. It is a thick cylindrical base, but the metal insert appears thin. Ideally the entire pole should be made of metal. But it does seem like you would be able make a self repair if it happens to break. My only other complaint is the 1-2-3 stickers on the pole, they would need to be removed with goo-gone if you cared about aesthetics as they’re really stuck on there. Overall, I think the photos speak for themselves and even if you don’t have pets or have just one carpet you most likely need this, because your vacuum could NEVER pull up that much debris.

So I was disgusted by this product. lol. The bad things first. I just received it and I just use it but the handle; the little black thing keeps popping off. So I just took it off. It’s too loose. It really should have come attached better. But whatever not a deal breaker does not take away from the fact that I scooped up a whole dog. There’s one adult and two toddlers in my house but also ten million babies that my daughter has so that adds to the hair situation in the house. There’s no dogs and yes. I did scooped up all this hair. I broke into a sweat cuz even though I’m 4”11 I had to put my back into it. But man was that gratifying. The carpet looks brand new now. I don’t think this carpet has ever been this cleaned and I’ve been here for almost a year. I should be ashamed since it’s only about 500sq ft of carpet. And yes I do vaccum regularly. But if you are hesitating about getting it don’t. I read reviews from countless others and I settle for this and it’s worth it. It’s well built other than the handle. Super easy to assemble my four year old could have done it by himself. Other than the handle problem if it wouldn’t drag the hair back as much that would be great like a sticky feature or something. But other than that. It’s good. Will update once I used it again a couple more times.

The rate does a very good job on my low-pile dense carpet, however they handle leads a lot to be desired. I'm going to keep using it because it does do a good job but I don't expect the handle to hold up. Makes me sad, because the rake part does a great job.

No matter how many times you vacuum there's always dog hair hiding in carpeting. My daughter ordered this to show me how much dog hair is still in the carpet after vacuuming. UNBELIEVABLE! This gets right into the carpet nap and drags those hiding hairs out! It's easy to use, built strong, works fantastically and takes up little space to store. If you have dogs, try this!

I am a German Shepherd mum and the hair shed is endless. I have tried rubber brushes, attachments for the vacuum amongst other things. This arrived today and I had already cleaned up the carpet i thought there wouldn’t be much hair left on the carpet - how wrong was I this was easy to use and the carpet looks like new. So much easier than other items I have used and much faster. Would recommend to anyone if asked

I had been searching for a more ergonomic option for one of these carpet/rug 'rakes' for my dog's fur. I have the handheld version from a different supplier but it was not comfortable to be sitting/kneeling on the floor for long periods of time, so I specifically wanted one that had a wider 'rake-catching area' as well as a long enough handle for me to stand. There were many other EXPENSIVE options, so I never followed through with a purchase. Finally came across this one, and was skeptical about the price, but also optimistic. I was not expecting amazing build quality, so my expectations were well met! (I provided a video using it on one carpet stair step. Not only is the sound super satisfying, you can visibly see the difference before and after. For context - I used this item 1 week ago when there was way more fur, as well as vacuumed, so this is after one week.) The reason for docking 1 star off the sturdiness is because while 'raking' the carpet, the pole might loosen up a bit. This does not bother me, I re-tighten the pole every few rakes anyway. (Further explanation - the pole is 3 main parts that you screw into each other). I'm also not pressing down very hard, as I prefer to rake over the same spot a few times and in different directions, so I am mindful of the amount of pressure I'm placing downwards on the item since it's not /that/ sturdy. **Another thing to keep in mind is the dimensions of the product. The rake portion of the product - although wider than the handheld version I also have, it still does not cover a super wide area, which may be an issue for others. The pole - it is not adjustable, and it may not be long enough for most people for it to really be ergonomic! I am quite short at 5 ft and I think it *just* about works out for my height that it is ergonomically beneficial.** All in all, I'm super glad I found the item, I noticed it goes a few dollars on sale every now and then! This is a great item for anyone with carpet stairs, any size low-pile rugs, and carpet flooring! I now don't feel satisfied with just a vacuum over! I must use this item first haha (and after if I'm feeling freaky and want to hold my vacuum accountable LOL). It is super satisfying and provides instant gratification. Delicious.

we had one that snapped when used with any kind of effort - this has pulled out triple the amount of dust and dog hair the previous one did. worth the extra money.

Needed something to get the pet hair out of the carpet that the vacuum could not get at and this worked perfectly! Comes really easy to assemble and all the pieces click in very easily. The pole can be readjusted if you’d like to just use the rake part or use the handle like a broom. Would highly recommend and works amazing at getting hair, dust, and other dirt out of the carpet that the vacuum cannot get at.

The handle is a little short for my liking but then again I am pretty tall so I have to bend to scrape the carpet. It works well at removing the hairs from the carpets and makes it easy to vacuum the little piles that it creates. I find it a little wabbly even though the handle pieces are screwed tightly together and I've had to glue the hook to the handle as it is loose and slides off. But overall, it does what it says it'll do.
