I massively overpaid for this almost double the usual price, it's from One Retail Group, who own the Pro Breeze brand - so it leaves a really bad taste in the mouth being fleeced by the manufacturer. (549.99 for the Pro Breeze 9000BTU 4 in 1 portable air con unit purchased 06/07/2026 – I bought this from them on Amazon but their website has now listed it for £649 100 quid more than yesterday!) - These have been available on Amazon for £280 previously and topped at £399 on One Retail Groups Pro Breeze website. I found all this out after purchasing. It had read good reviews in the telegraph and other publications, but they didn't mention price and they only had a"Check price on Amazon" link. For this price you are able to get a much more powerful, premium unit. but because we are in a heat wave, we have massive shortages and One Retail Group, the owner of Pro Breeze are fleecing their customers as a result. I understand there are scalpers but you don't expect it from the company that owns the brand. I think I would honestly have preferred the extra money I paid on top, to have gone to a scalper! Right! with all that out of the way, the unit seems to cool nicely - The fan is loud, very loud on high - from what I understand you use the fan to quickly cool the room but otherwise have it in "cool" mode, which kicks up or down when needed. The packaging is good, it's one of these with polystyrene at the top, and plastic straps. once you remove that you are able to slide the packaging off and the unit is upright. I read in amazon reviews here, the wheels don't roll on carpet - they are fine on mine (it is not shaggy but not really thin either) and it is very easy to move. The exhaust hose attachment needs to be screwed on anti-clockwise for some reason. It looks nice and seems simple to use. My room dimensions 18ft L, 10ft W, 8ft H. The unit is heavy, but not ridiculous. If you need to get it upstairs you could do it with ease with two people. I wouldn't try it on my own but the DPD driver (who was excellent) lifted it out of his van and into my house and didn't seem to struggle. To do the hinged window cloth fixing for the exhaust pipe and to unbox etc and have it in place, took under an hour. The unit needs to sit for at least two hours before use, it says in the manual. I bought this unit because I have two King Charles Spaniels, one is 14 and I don't want them struggling in the heat. (we had a heat wave about 10 days ago and we all struggled and are due another one from today) - I am still P*ssed about getting ripped off by the manufacturer but the unit itself seems to cool well. Again its very expensive at the moment, but if you are desperate and can find one in stock, this does work and it looks and feels nice. Today is day two of using it, the temp is 33 outside and the dogs and the room is chilly – so the unit itself is excellent. ------------ Day 3 of using it, 31 outside and I had to turn the temp up on the machine it was so cold in the front room. It does work very well.

Delivery was great, pretty easy to unpack. Set up on wifi using SmartLife app was remarkably easy. All up and running in just a few minutes. Installing the window opening cover was fairly easy, wish I'd spent a bit more time ensuring the window was very clean as a couple of bits struggled to stay stuck. I also supported the pipe a bit as its quite heavy to stay in place. May need to work on that. The only downside is its quite noisy, I could sleep with it on, easier than when it was unbearably hot before after all, but don't expect a gentle humming breeze. Power usage is not bad, around 1kW.

So far so good, unfortunately I've not used it during heatwave yet. But I've been able to drop my 23c room down to 16c and felt the effects across the whole top floor of my house & the fan only mode is nice just for a breeze if it's a warm night. App setup was easy enough, and Alexa integration works for nicely for Alexa turn on the AC, fan only mode, cool mode & off. For those worried about the expense of running this, I'd suggest buying a smart plug with energy monitor built in so you can keep an eye on the expenses and only use it when you really need it.... Talking around 30-35p an hour of running flat out. -- It turns off AC when temp is at target, this costs will be reduced.. but initial flat out run is pricey & the more heat there is the more often it'll be on. Portability - it's portable in once you have it you can wheel it around the floor, but it's about 15kg I believe and quite awkward/must be kept up right so transporting it up and down stairs frequently isn't something I'd consider an option, sure massive heatwave I'll move it downstairs and keep it there for the duration. There's no motorised oscillation which while I generally point fans etc at me and that's it I was quite surprised you have to direct the air manually. Quality wise, pretty good very heavy remote is generic but functional and there's no real issues. My only gripe however is it's quite noisy, even on normal fan mode -- while it certainly shifts some air, it's substantially louder than my existing fans, I have a large 18" metal fan which is more similar for noise... And with air conditioning mode on, add to that the noise of a loud refrigerator. But, honestly when it's hot I really wouldn't care in the least.. really looking forward to the next heatwave and being able to sleep in comfort.

I bought this unit specifically for the bedroom because I simply cannot sleep when it gets hot. Overall, it absolutely does the job, but there are a few things you need to know before buying. My Routine for a Freezing Bedroom (The Secret to Success) First things first: this machine is loud. There is no getting around it—even the fan on its lowest setting is noisy. Because of this, here is the routine I use in London: About 1–2 hours before bed, I remove the duvet from the bed (VERY IMPORTANT). I set the aircon to the coolest temperature with the highest fan speed. I close the bedroom door and drop a towel in front of the gap to completely seal the room. When I walk in at bedtime, it literally feels like I’ve jumped into the freezers at my local Sainsbury's! If I turn the unit off at bedtime, the room stays cool for about 3 hours before getting hot again, which is usually enough time for me to fall asleep. It does have a "Sleep Mode" which is quieter (though still noticeable). I’m personally willing to sleep through the noise to keep the room freezing all night, but the Mrs isn't, so we have to turn it off when we get into bed. The Negatives The Noise: Do not complain about the noise if you buy this after reading my review! I’ve warned you—it is loud, even when just using the fan. Bulky Hose & Window Kit: The exhaust hose is very bulky and looks quite ugly in a bedroom. Plus, if you have side-hinged windows, using the plastic window kit means your window has to stay open a few inches. While it seals out rain and wind, it lets in outside noise pollution (cars, people, etc.). You can take the hose down and close the window fully every night, but it’s a total faff. Moving it is a Pain: It’s heavy and bulky. While it has wheels, moving it downstairs for the day is a chore. Plus, the warning sticker on the front states you should wait 2 hours after moving it to let the gases settle before turning it on. You’d also need to buy a second window seal for downstairs, and since the family constantly leaves doors and windows open during summer anyway, it defeats the object. No Hose Insulation Included: The exhaust tube gets incredibly hot, which radiates heat back into the room and makes the unit work harder. It really should come with a heat shield. I bought an insulation blanket off Amazon for £15 to wrap around the hose, which completely solves the problem and keeps the heat out. Security Risk: If you plan to leave it running on Sleep Mode all night on a ground floor, be aware that your window will be left slightly open. Design Quirks: I would prefer the air vents to be on the very top of the unit rather than the top-front panel. The manual direction flaps are also a bit finnicky to adjust. Finally, it has no heater function, so it's strictly for summer use. The Positives It Absolutely Works: As long as you buy the correct BTU size for your room, this thing chills spectacularly well. Better Sleep: I can finally fall asleep without waking up drenched. It has made my days much more productive because I'm actually rested. Smart/Wi-Fi Features: The Wi-Fi control is an absolute game-changer. Being able to turn it on from another room is fantastic. You can even control it when you're out of the house or set smart schedules (e.g., setting it to turn on at 8 PM so the room is ice-cold when you get home at 10 PM). Post-Shower Relief: If you're like me and usually overheat right after showering and getting dressed, cooling the room down completely stops that from happening! Bottom Line If you can look past the noise and the bulky setup, it’s a lifesaver for summer. Just buy a hose jacket for it, set a routine, and enjoy the cold air!

I saw this on Which? as a recommended Best Buy and jumped the gun before the heatwave started. It worked very well until the cool function didn’t work. First setting the thing up was tricky, the exhaust pipe is fiddly to sort. The machine is really heavy so unless you live on one floor with non carpeted floors this will be a nightmare to move. I can’t even imagine trying to fix the pipe on non sash windows. Other than that it worked great, it’s very noisy even on low but I can live with that for cool air. The cooling function sadly suddenly stopped working the other day for no clear reason. I’ve cleaned filters and ensured all is ok. Nothing has helped. I’m now planning on returning it. I’m gutted as it seemed to be working out well. I gotta say I’m disgusted that ProBreeze can inflate the price on their website from £315 (what I paid) to £700! I’ve contacted the company to see if they can come up with a solution.

It cooled my room by about 7 degrees in an hour. It was easy to set up, looks amazing, and powers up through heatwaves quite well. Portability is top rated due to wheels installed. Very powerful when put on high too. I don't have enough space to have one in every room but what I do, is I set it up in my bedroom and leave an extra fan on rotating and pushing the cold air from the Pro Breeze towards the door so it goes into my living room too. Very compact and efficient!

Far too noisy even on the low speed fan setting to use while sleeping, very heavy with wheels which are ineffective on carpeted floors and not especially efficient at cooling despite the positive reviews and consumer magazine reports. The drain locations for the condensate tank are poorly designed and the lower one is very difficult to use. The smart functionality all works well. The window vent system for non-sash windows is of limited use so I had to make something myself (as expected, to be fair).

So before I purchased this I read the reviews, all said how noisy this item is. 35 degree heat forced my hand and I got a returned unit for nearly half price. I’m so glad I did, this little unit is a powerhouse. I have it in my bedroom and it cools my whole little flat. Yes it makes a noise it is a machine, if you want whisper quiet pay thousands. It’s no more noisy than my fans and I sleep through it.
