Columbia Men's Half Moon II Short

They are labeled "Performance Fishing Gear" As I'm don't fish, had I known that in advance, it would have discouraged me from buying them. That would have been a mistake. I bought them for bicycling because they're fairly loose. I dislike the normal "spandex biking pants" because they're useless for anyplace other than actually on a bike.The Columbia's huge pockets, both front and back are of the diagonal "slash" design. I've never seen that in back pockets before, but its a great design. They are very easy to place and remove items and once inside are very secure. The cargo portion on the front pockets are a see-through mesh. I bought them in "large" and they are borderline too large. I wear a 36" waist in most other pants. I should have gone with a medium as the elastic side bands are fully contracted when I wear them.

These shorts were purchased for a woman because the women's versions have pockets way to small to do the job. These shorts with the larger pockets with velcro worked great to hold a cell phone, small wallet, etc. while on vacation. I chose these because they were shorter and wider, which worked well for a woman, too. I wish they would make a version with quick dry lighter weight fabric.

Overall I'm satisfied with this product. I only have two minor issues to mention which I stress are minor and not deal breakers for me personally. One is that the closure at the waist is not a button or snap, but instead only Velcro. The main closure is Velcro and then there is a secondary closure in the form of a partial sewn in belt that is also Velcro. The design works fine and is comfortable. My concern is how long the Velcro will last with continual use. Secondly I wish there were more colors to choose from. I would recommend the product though to others considering a purchase.

Well made, good craftsmanship, take some getting used to with the pocket access and the velcro pads everywhere, but these are probably useful to hold your stuff in the pockets while hanging upside down on a rock face ascent or outrunning a grizzly. There are belt loops, and more velcro features to hold the waist if one chooses not to use a belt, but the strap and plastic buckle is in need of more R&D to be easy to use and secure__a little design work and that beltless option would be great.

My guy loves these because he likes shorter shorts and not ones that go clear to his knee--closer to a 6" rise than a 9" rise. Shorter shorts are not that easy to find so we're glad we found these. Columbia products are great quality and these are no exception. The sage color is nice--not too dark and not too light. The fit was just right. I hope they keep making these.

These shorts are well made and fit great. My only complaint is they are very short. The inseam measures a bit under 6 inches. I normally prefer a longer pair of shorts! The material and color are great, as is the basic design of the shorts. I like the belt fastener which allows you to tighten the shorts as necessary. It also has a velcro fastener.

Ordering clothes online is always an iffy deal. According to Columbia's sizing chart, I needed a small, not my usual medium. The waist fits perfectly. I like the sorter length of camp shorts, but these are a little shorter than other similar Columbia shorts I own. These have good features for outdoor activities, like the velcro closure mesh pockets in front. I like the sewn-on velcro belt, too. It's more comfortable than wearing a regular belt.

easy to get in and out of pockets even in awkward positions. has a lot of room in pockets and I find them particularly good for fishing or working on the boat. they are exceptionally comfortable. I don't like long shorts and these have perfect length. It is like someone who does a lot of fishing or outside activity designed a pair of shorts that work for all the activity. I like aftco's but these are more convenient.

For me 5'11" older chap , these shorts are just perfect, great fit / sizing.

Had a pair for 5 years, heavy wear, excellent shortish shorts with great pockets front and back. Hope this pair are as durable. Couldn’t get the khaki colour but this blue will work.
