well, I hang the entire thing on my doorknob, on the inside. (tassel included) , as I have heard that is custom. Depending on the amount of coins, it means different things. So suggest that you look up, on line, what the difference the meaning is depending on the amount of coins. The front door, not the back door, when you have three, as that welcomes in your wealth.
