Linksys E2500 (N600) Advanced Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router

I needed to replace an old router that was having some issues. This was easy to set up. I called support because the auto-setup software didn't work for me and we had to set it up manually but they were very helpful. There is an option to pay to have them connect or manually set it up for free. I chose the free option since I'm computer savvy and had no trouble. It's been working without any issues.

These routers perform very well given the low price of them, and signal strength even through concrete walls is still incredibly strong for me. The very slim profile is a major bonus, and overall I've had very few issues with these. Biggest complaint about this device is that there are no mounting holes on the bottom of it, so it has to either be propped up sideways or put into a holder of some sort to mount this anywhere other than on a flat surface.

Product works as intended, I don't have a lot of time with it and I am not worried about large area coverage but for my home works great. Set up was easy about 5 min total with simple user menu's with out the cost of high end wireless routers. I would buy again but hopefully this one lasts a long time.

Bought this because older one quit working. Discovered the power supply burnt out and the older one is still good. Using this one now and have had no issues with it.

Wrong pic on the page. The item I rec'd said its range was 750sq/ft (that's maybe 1/2 your average home or small apartment) also said it was for 5+ devices, not enough for any home. It did not mentioned any of this in the details on amazon. I didn't even open the box. Returned it straight away. Thanks for accepting the return, no muss/fuss but still wasted my time. Stuck without wifi for longer.

Original review ... My older Linksys E3000 died and I just bought another Linksys product. Why I don't know. The price? If you own a Mac and are running Mavericks or a newer operating system, then the Setup CD will not be able to install the Linksys Connect application. The Linksys Connect application is installed on your Mac/PC and is used to configure the wireless router. You can get the Linksys Connect application by going to the Linksys support site and following the links to the E2500 wireless router and then getting the latest version of Connect. This worked fine on my iMac after the setup CD that came with the router, failed because the MAC setup program on the CD was too old. You can also manually configure the router. I did this earlier before I looked on the Linksys site for a newer version of Connect. 8/18/16 Ok ... after working with LinkSys support and my ISP I am tossing this router in the trash. It reboots so often its difficult to get work done and nobody has a clue. Way way way too much effort spent trying to debug it and keep it up and running. So ... I am on the hunt for a nice reliable router I can just forget about and use.

This is my second one in 20 years. It works great. First one lasted along time. Small and doesn't take up alot of space. Easy to install.

I gave this a good review because it gave everything I needed before i made the purchase. Unfortunately, my Uncle had a better more powerful wi-fi router he sold to me in new condition. If I would have received the router I purchase, my needs would have been met, with tech support, but this router was not needed. Thank you Amazon for refunding my money and giving me another great experience.

Super easy and fast to set up! Connected 2 laptops, a printer and the Wii within minutes. Great signal strength to all 3 floors of the house and can't wait till summer to test it out in the backyard. No dropped connections and handles streaming movies no problem. Great little router! UPDATE: 3 years later & this router is still working perfectly!! Used the wifi in the backyard, as well as in the unattached garage & no loss of signal. Parents bought the same router at the same time & they also have had no problems. Very happy with this purchase!

Bought this to replace an old router and it works very well. It has no issues reaching from my basement, to the top level (Split bungalow) of my house. I never have any speed issues with this router. Once in a while I do need to reset it, but I've never had a router that doesn't need to be reset. All in all, it's a solid router and I expect this from Linksys. This router is able to have custom firmware on it, but I haven't installed it so I can not comment on this aspect.

One of the worst routers I've come across. Week signal and range <15ft (mainly due to the lack of proper external antennas), bad lag, weak user GUI, hanging at least once a day in heavy traffic, just to name a few things of the top of my head. If you're a tech savvy or a power user, avoid like router like the plague. Tested it with Tomato firmware to see if it would be better by increasing the tx power and changing the OS. One can't circumvent a cheap antenna design. Shame on Linksys for such a horrible router. looks like a million buck,s but wouldn't use it if it was free. Worst than the Asus 12N/D1 which I though was a joke. After days on the forums, I decided enough was enough. Returned for refund. Bought a NetGear R7000 at 4 times the price and I can not be happier. The days of Linksys and Asus being the king of the hill, are over. I have come to accept that there isn't any router worth buying for less than $200.

It is a basic router which met the need for a small area in the house. I did not need one with a great signal range. It has a USB connection if you have a hard drive to share files. It took 5 minutes to setup. With me not setting it up with a computer, it was trying to get me to install software on my phone and was getting stuck. I was able to bypass this with going to the Ip address once connected to the new wifi. Not that I needed it, the instruction which assumed I would use the CD provided did not give the admin user name and password. The user/password by default is admin/admin. They should have put that on the instructions. This may not be known by everyone. You need this to make changes to the default setting of the router.
