Plug and Play on the Raspberry Pi

My review is only for the WiFi device. There is a separate Bluetooth device that I have not tried at all.Received the Panda, plugged it in to an external Active USB hub, and it was immediately recognized -- not even a reboot required. It was as simple as setting up the SSID and specifying the correct WPA key and I was connected! Thanks to the GUI on my Raspberry Pi, all of this was well, easy as Pi. (Yeah, I know...)This is a minimalist device in one dimension:First, the construction is such that bumping it makes the outer shell pop off. While things popping off prevents anything from actually breaking, I would not want to connect this to a device that is likely to be jostled, such as a laptop on my lap. My specific application is stationary, and intended to connect a SDR (Software Defined Radio) USB dongle to the network via the Raspberry Pi and a TCP/IP feed.I found that the device's range to be just average. The Pi is sitting upstairs in my bedroom, in order to locate the SDR device and its antenna as high as possible for good reception. I found that it was easy to block the signal with furniture. Overall range is likely no worse than higher-priced alternatives. Just not any better...Once set up in a good location and connected, it has been solid as a rock. The Raspberry Pi is cranking out a steady Wi-Fi signal, and even when the access point screws up (which it does), things work again once the Access Point sorts itself out. Some other Wi-Fi devices roll over dead when the signal gets constipated -- especially when Linux is part of the mix. Also worth noting that prior to purchase I tried a popular Netgear USB Wi-Fi dongle and was unable to get it to be recognized by the Raspberry Pi. It was an older device, so I was surprised that driver support was not present. Made this unit even more attractive when it "just worked".Would I purchase it again? Almost certainly, and I expect that I will as my fleet of Raspberries grows.

Almost amazing

Used temporarily while looking for a better solution and it will definitely be in my bag of troubleshooting tools but it falls just short of being good for daily use. The wireless adapter is not sensitive enough to have a great range; so both the speed and range take a hit. If this is going to be in a Pi used for web browsing or in anything else as a backup go for it; if you need it for streaming or mission critical server/applications look elsewhere.PS.Panda is the best name for a company ever.

Worked great.

Great seller, fast delivery, product works fantastic in my Raspberry Pi. Perfect combination for the money. Just know what you are doing when configuring devices for the Pi especially when you are setting up more advanced modes like ad-hoc networks and access points as you must get the drivers and settings correct, guessing your way through won't work in most cases. Most issues I see folks having are of their own making and lack of experience. Take advantage of the extremely large online community and you'll find you can get through most anything. And if you happen to get a bad unit this seller seems very willing to make things right, give them a chance. I had issues with another order and they fixed them before I barely had a chance to respond.

Work on first try out of box. If your Pi is setup correctly

I brought this for a Raspberry Pi project I am making. Plugged it in and nothing happened. I contacted support and after sending them infor of files the needed They told me the problem looked like a Os problem. I reinstalled the OS. Plugged in the WiFi and it worked with no extra setup.Great support and unit works with no setup at all. Thanks would buy again.Randy

Wifi great! Bluetooth not so much with Raspberry pi.

Bought it for my Raspberry pi because it was on the list of approved devices. The Wifi worked perfectly, no issue. The bluetooth on theother hand refuses to work at all. This is my second bluetooth dongle but here is the funny part: The first was was a totally different brand yet both dongles look to be EXACTLY the same. Obviously, these are mass produced and resold as different brands.

Works on Raspberry Pi

I bought this set for my Raspberry Pi. Everything works well, in fact works even without a powered hub, but not swappable. If you plug in while the Pi is running, the WiFi dongle will kill it and it will restart. However, if it's plugged in the whole time, it works fine as king as you have a good power supply. No issues with the Bluetooth dongle.Update: After owning this about six months, I am now using the WiFi dongle on my Windows 7 PC. Took a few minutes to get the drivers sorted, but everything works now.

Pretty good

So far have not had any major issues with either bluetooth or wifi using these with a Raspberry Pi 2. There is probably going to be some setup involved if using a Raspberry Pi, depending on what distro (or OS choice in general) you're using. Using Raspbian, you do have to install bluetooth. The USB ports on the Pi may not be able to reliably power the wifi dongle, so you probably have to use a powered hub.

Works with Windows 10.

Th following comments apply to Panda Model PAU04 USB WiFi adapter. When I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 the Ethernet Interface no longer worked. I first tried Netgear and Edimax USB WiFi adapters. Neither worked with Windows 10. Then I tried the Panda PAU04. It works with Windows 10 and software installation was frustration free. I then used the WiFi capability to upgrade the Ethernet driver. The Ethernet Interface now works with Windows 10.
