Great for holding on box lids
I used these to hold the lids on some of the little boxes I make. I drill a hole in both the lid and the body of the box and insert these opposite each other. They hold the lid on very well, as long as you get them oriented correctly.

I use these as a stud finder. The small diameter makes it perfect for finding the screw/nail in the stud.
