Collection of all seven films from the highly successful comedy series. In 'Police Academy' (1984), a new mayor offers a motley crew of misfits the chance to oil the wheels of justice when he lifts the restrictions that normally apply for recruiting new members to the police force. The academy has the onerous task of knocking them into law-enforcing shape. 'Police Academy 2 - Their First Assignment' (1985) sees six of the inept recruits being transferred to another precinct, where the lieutenant's promotion depends on them flunking their training course. They also face trouble on the streets in the form of a gang of sociopaths, led by a psychobabbling lunatic. In 'Police Academy 3 - Back in Training' (1986), the police budget is being cut, so one of the two training academies faces the chop. It's up to the former graduates of Commandant Lassard (George Gaynes)'s academy to save their old training ground. In 'Police Academy 4 - Citizens On Patrol' (1987), our rookie cops try to involve the local community in order to prevent crime. However, their efforts are thwarted by Captain Harris (G. W. Bailey) who is determined to scupper the plans of the group which has caused him so much trouble in the past. 'Police Academy 5 - Assignment Miami Beach' (1988) sees Commandant Lassard finally reach retirement age. The whole gang fly down to Miami to watch him receive an award. The only problem is that he's picked up the wrong bag at the airport and is now in possession of some stolen diamonds belonging to a bunch of crooks. In 'Police Academy 6 - City Under Siege' (1989), a criminal holds the city to ransom by masterminding a spate of burglaries and fraud. To make matters worse, the rookie cops have a plan to stop him. 'Police Academy 7 - Mission to Moscow' (1994) sees the fabled police team helping out in post-Soviet Union Russia. The Russians have a problem on their hands when Mafia godfather Konali (Ron Perlman) hatches a plan to control the entire world via an addictive computer game. The fate of the planet lies in the police academy's hands, much to the planet's concern... Review: Police Academy BluRay - A nice item thanks! Good Quality! With kind regards Review: Police Academy: The Complete Collection - **THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS** Police Academy is a series of American comedy films, the first six of which were made in the 1980s. The seventh and (to date) last installment, Mission to Moscow, was released in 1994. The series opened with Police Academy (1984) which started with the premise that a new mayor had announced a policy requiring the police department to accept all willing recruits. The movie followed a group of misfit recruits in their attempts to prove themselves capable of being police officers. The main character, Carey Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg), was a repeat offender who was forced to join the police academy as punishment. In general, all of the movies and television shows depended on low-brow humor, usually based on simple characterisations and physical comedy. As with many similar movies, the theme was a group of underdogs struggling to prove themselves while various stereotyped authority figures tried to suppress them. The sequels have not been well received by critics over the years. The first film grossed $81.2 million in North America, with the following films earning $150 million in total. Parallels are often drawn between Police Academy and the British Carry On franchise for their common reliance on a largely constant ensemble cast throughout the various films, the two series' frequent use of low brow humor, sexual innuendo and physical comedy. The Police Academy films are just excellent in that they are so amusing and entertaining, although I felt that Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow (released in 1994) wasn't quite a patch on the first six Police Academy films. Overall, I very highly recommend the Police Academy franchise as the films are so funny, you won't be disappointed.

Classics
Having seen all these films in the cinema growing up, and being more a physical media guy rather than streaming, had some annual leave to use from work so thought I would take a trip down memory lane. The films still hold up quite well and was nice to watch them all again. No doubt they will have several more watches in the coming years. Maybe not for younger people who get offended by everything these days but for anyone with a sense of humour who can let things go over their heads, well worth a watch. For the price, pretty much the price of a cinema ticket, you get 7 films on blu ray. The quality demimishes over the sequels but even the weakest of the 7 is more amusing than anything billed as funny to come out of Hollywood lately.

Iconic 80’s comedy and its gradually declining sequels in a decent collection
The first Police Academy will stand as one of the most cherished comedy from the 80’s. Its successors however, apart from some running gags, have not aged nearly as well. The Blu-ray Discs themselves have decent image quality, clear if not groundbreaking sound, and some nifty behind-the-scene special features. At the current price, this is a worthwhile purchase even if to serve as a nostalgic guilty pleasure.

Police Academy is Outstanding.
Brilliant Funny Police Comedy. Makes police officers look like ordinary human beings. Unique also. Very intelligent comedy action. For the man or woman who enjoys a movie with lots of laughs. This is definitely for you. The seven movies vary regards quality of course. But are all a good laugh. The American Police all carry guns of course. Much humour being made about the guns they use. Highly recommend if you enjoy a laugh.

A true classic
I have to admit I only bought it for bad times whne I feel i might need a good laugh and haven't even unpacked the box yet. The movies are most likely known by everyone who ever needed a godo laugh. It is smart, witty and a bit dumb comedy at times, that will get you laughing no matter. As with every movie that was initially intended as one movie, but then got sequel and sequel and a few more sequels, the movies never were Oscar-worthy, but they didn't need to. I believe their concept was never to make you think about stuff, but just... make you laugh and give you a good time. they kept the whole idea trough all 7 films, althought they exchanged more or less most of the originally cast by the time they reached the 7th film. Which is admittedly a bit sad. The 7th nevertheless worked as well - althought not sure how successful it was. If you are having a down day, need a good laugh or just want a good time for a few hours - this is your movie.

Altri tempi... Senza internet e piattaforme TV a pagamento..... Acquisto consigliato.
