Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce, Canned Sauce, 15 oz. (Pack of 2)

I used to make my hamburger bbq from scratch but with the price of ketchup, I started using Manwich. I only use half a can plus a little water and freeze the other half for next time. I find its more economical this way and we never know the difference once it cooks down a bit. I add chopped onion and green pepper when the meat is cooking. I drain the grease and I whiz the meat mixture for 2-3 pulses in my food processor to give it a finer consistency then put back in the pan and add the Manwich sauce. Its delicious for canned with these small changes.

However, I did find it a bit sweeter than I expected, so I added a little extra seasoning to balance it out. The sodium level also seems a bit high. Still, it’s a solid option when you need something fast and satisfying.

One of my late son's greatest pleasures was a giant, overfilled hamburger bun with ground angus and manwich. I make it in his honor to this day, and it's still one of life's simple pleasures - a great, basic sloppy joe.

My family loves sloppy Joes we usually buy more than one can but I make sure I stay stocked up on it and this on is my go to. It has a nice subtle tangy flavor and goes great with Mac N Cheese.
