can somebody explain the 'instructions' under the product description? it's attached to the window pane? or the frame? is there an air gap?

I've attached it to the window frame. The film creates a gap that slows the transfer of heat from the window to the air.

Can you still open the window?

Only if you do each pane separately which I did so I can leave in on all year been on now 2 years

What colour is the adhesive tape?

It's clear once you peel off the white protective back

Does this come with the double sided tape ??

Yes there is a roll of double sided tape in the packet
