As car prices are getting more outrageous, I'm doing more service to my cars so I can keep them longer. I was at the point where I wanted more than my $100 scanner could do. From watching Youtube videos, I decided I needed a Bi-Directional scanner so I can do more in-depth monitoring of my cars and more complex diagnosing. I watched many videos and saw the name Topdon and started looking at this model. It's a midrange scanner and exceeds what I need know but I know I will grow into it. One thing I wanted was a scanner that did in depth transmission diagnosis. These screen shots are from a 2017 Traverse and wow does it have a lot of modules this scanner can talk too. Another thing I recommend is get used to the menu system as I would find a test and then later not remember where I found it. The screen shots above show the path to get to the features I need. I see long term fuel trim is off a little and I need to investigate that. Maybe the air cleaner is dirty or worse and a rodent may have made a nest in the airbox and is messing up the fuel trim. The blutooth wireless connected quickly with the scanner and worked flawlessly. There is lots more to learn about this and I watched the Topdon Youtube video on the many features which helps me see the power of this unit. This unit feels well put together and not cheaply made. The only thing I see missing is a kickstand in the back to stand the unit up. You will be impressed with this unit.

As a mechanic with years of experience I can say with utter confidence that this is the best scanner on the market for the price. I’ve used this scanner daily since it arrived and it does everything I need and MORE. Super user friendly and easy to learn. I’ve used this scanner to diagnose codes, erase codes, reset TPMS, and diagnose and reset ABS lights. Very versatile scanner with so many uses. System has had daily software updates for vehicle programs. I’ve recommended this product to everyone I know!

Since I've bought this scantool it has helped a lot in quick situations with car manufactures that my oem subaru work computer can not read. The Bluetooth dongle is great and allows me to not have to sit in the car to read any codes or live data that I may otherwise need a wired connection for. It tells you it comes with 2 year free subscription but upon inspection mine actually came with 3 free years so that's even a bigger plus in my book. You can do many manufacture specific functions such as programming keys, tpms monitors and actuate solenoids and other things among those. The only thing it can't do it is key programs for newer cars requiring encrypted codes from the manufacturer. The battery life has been great I've only charged it one time since I received it, and you also get a nice case to store or travel with the scan tool depending on what you do. The Bluetooth dongle goes right into the scanner and the scanner itself isn't too heavy or bulky. I would definately recommend this for anyone looking for an alternative to a big name brand such as snapon

I've been using scanners for almost a decade now so I've used quite a few different brands of tools. Every one has pros and cons but this scanner offered solutions to issues I have with other tools in the past. I think my favorite feature is the storage spot for the Bluetooth dongle in the bottom of the tool. The tool will also remind you to remove the dongle from the car after exiting the diagnostic program. Bluetooth connection is so nice after using multiple tools that have hard wired obd connections for years. The display is crisp and bright and easy to see even outside on sunny days. Another issue I've had previously was screen shots and recording data. Both are as really easy with just the click of an icon on the screen. And the screen recorder saves everything you see on the screen and you can bounce around to different graphs and data pids and keep it all in one recording. This is a great all around tool for professionals or diy. It's the perfect size not too big or small.

Let's get the negative out of the way first...it DOESN'T PROGRAM KEYS... That's the main drawback in my opinion. The other minor gripe is that there is no stand on the tablet. Also, being wireless, you cannot attach a j1850 adapter (as used by harley davidson).That's it. Now as for the rest, it is compact with a great screen, easy to navigate, intuitive menus, and for a wireless Bluetooth, surprisingly fast. Updates load quickly (except for BMW/MINI/ROLLS ROYCE which tool an Incredibly long time) Scans almost any vehicle you're likely to come across and returns data in several forms. Live data is excellent and graphing is sophisticated and easy to combine and compare. If the 3 minor picks don't apply to you then add a star. Good mid level diagnostic tool.

This scanner is pretty awesome. opened it up and it had a software update to complete which it finished quickly. I plugged it in to my f250 to see how it worked and I was impressed with how quickly the Bluetooth receiver connected to the scanner. It’s a pet peeve of mine when Bluetooth devices don’t connect on the first attempt. The next thing I was impressed with is how many things it can monitor. Must have been hundreds of options from engine hours and number of ignitions, to throttle position and torque. I really only bought it for diagnosing problems but will probably mount it in the truck on long road trips with the trailer to better monitor the trucks performance. Another thing I am excited about is using this before purchasing a used vehicle. I feel like there is no hiding from this thing. Overall I am giving this 5 stars for its user friendly interface, sturdy construction, and it’s capabilities. I will update when I use it to diagnose a problem.

I Picked up this tool not wanting to pay an arm and a leg for something similar and I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted something with functions other then just reading codes and I was thrilled with the functions it can do. I was worried about having a wireless scanner but after using this I couldn't go back. It connects instantly with no delay and the GUI is easy to use with little direction. I was also shocked at the amount of updates this came with right out of the box will over 100 vehicle updates to the system. If I had to buy another OBD2 or recommend to a friend I would totally point them towards TOPDON in the future.

The scanner's cool and does a lot of things that help you out. But one year and one week after I bought it, the Bluetooth VCI that plugs into the OBD2 port went bad. It just beeps constantly and flashes the Bluetooth connection. Customer support at topdon said the VCI needs replaced and it's going to cost me $150 because the warranty ended just a week or two ago. I asked them if it was typical for the VCI to go out within a year and they said it was not typical for them to go out under 2 years. So I wouldn't buy this again because if I'm going to have to spend $150 or more every couple years because the the Bluetooth vci just stops working, it's more hassle than it's worth. I had the thing slightly over one year and used it less than 12 times. I kept it in its case in a temperature controlled environment at 65 to 75°,. It was free of moisture and dirt and dust. And the insides of the VCI just went out. It's not really acceptable for a $600 tool.

Great piece of kit for the price, After setting up an AD900bt login ,and going through the registration which was instant and easy. The screen is a nice size with the Obd2 adapter fitting nicely inside the bottom, Very easy user friendly interface. The automatic vin search is great, and brings up all the details on your vehicle with added options. you can ask for a full ecu scan or single ecu. So far I found it needs to be connected to a WiFi network Or just hotspot off your phone. This bales you to search faults when diagnosing. The diagram of the modules available makes it easy to choose. Haven’t managed to programe anything yet and will post a video with pictures soon Overall good for the money. And would definitely recommend buying Topdon products I’ve bought from them before and will definitely buying from them again.
