How much should I feed my pet?

The RSPCA recommends at least a ‘rabbit-sized’ bundle of fresh hay for each rabbit daily. For Guinea Pigs, the Humane Society states that 'Guinea pigs need continuous access to hay to aid their digestion and limit the growth of their teeth'.

Timothy Hay vs Alfalfa Hay

Alfalfa hay is ideal for baby rabbits from 3 weeks to 7 months. However, it does not have enough fibre for the digestion of a fully grown adult rabbit. Timothy hay is high in fibre, meaning it is suitable for any rabbit over 7 months old.

Why is Timothy Hay important for small pets?

Timothy Hay is a crucial part of the diet for rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small pets. It provides essential fiber, promoting healthy digestion, and helps wear down their constantly growing teeth.

How do I introduce Timothy Hay to my pet's diet?

Start by gradually introducing Timothy Hay alongside your pet's current food. Most small pets enjoy nibbling on it throughout the day.

How should I store Timothy Hay to maintain its freshness?

Store Timothy Hay in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Keep it in a well-ventilated container or bag, and ensure it's sealed tightly to preserve its freshness.
